No he just chose not to get rid of the H-pipe. He got rid of the resonators right behind the H-pipe and put in the X-pipe. There's enough room to fit it in there.

Correct, it will reduce the drone and if you have test pipes it eliminates most of the rasp. The sound should be a lil deeper and you might feel a lil butt dyno improvement, not much.
