I don't know how prices are in Cali, but I know a few guys in Houston that got charged about 3k for installation, and that is after buying a 2k air suspension kit.

have you tried putting the car on jacks and seeing if you can somehow get the exhaust to sit a tad higher under the car? maybe an exhaust shop can add a hanger somewhere that will pull up on it just enough to keep you from scraping on that rail.

the other thing, the plywood is a good idea. just put a big piece of plywood on the driveway, but just on the inside (house side) of that rail. that way, when your tires are on the inside (house side) of the rail, they will be higher, which might raise the car just enough to miss that rail. putting plywood on the outside (street side) of the rail might just make it worse because it might just worsen the angle of the driveway.

maybe a combination of both would be a good idea. or, move to a nicer neighborhood where a security fence isn't needed and you can put your car in a garage. i cant imagine not having a garage, i would go nuts.

to me it looks like if you angled starting with your right front tire at the very edge of the right side of the drive and nosed toward your house, you should be able to clear that with no problem. or have you tried back it in on an angle? sometimes it can give you more clearance

the problem with backing in, in my experience, is that you tend to scrape your front bumper pretty bad, unless you can take a really sharp angle at it, which it doesnt look like he can. its a pretty narrow driveway entrance.

If you're patient, you should just put some wood blocks out ever time you leave/arrive over the bar...

I've done that before when my first driveway was too steep to get out of without scraping.

I have a long piece of 2X4 in the gutter, it helps me alot mista, but when it rains, the 2X4 floats to the neighbors driveway. I have to go pick it up and drag it home later.
