Ugh, I got to enjoy my G35 for 4 months. Sad.
Within my 4 months of ownership I had the windows tinted, added splash guards, Stillen tube, K&N filter, Z Tein H Tech springs, Ichiba rear camber arms and just this morning I installed Ichiba front camber arms and was planning to get my alignment fixed in the morning. Little did I know the car did not have much time left to live. I'm super sad about the whole thing, I honestly started a connection with the car and just enjoyed it so much.
I rolled over a good bit from the 6MT w/ Nav 06 TL I traded in and got on track to have the negative equity caught up in a year....setup hefty AFT's with the bank and was on my way to having it paid off in under 3 years coming down from 5.
Here's a few recent pictures, RIP @ 68,000 miles.
Did I mention I have brand new OEM headlights arriving Monday? Bummer.
So here's how it all went down. I was on my way to work to catch overtime as I frequently do. I'm cruising at 56 in a 55 zone, A/C blasting just enjoying the newly added front camber arms....they sport'd up the feel of the suspension IMO.
I see a Subaru Forester stopped at a stop sign to my right about 100 feet away. You'd think normal people would look both ways........I saw her look away from me not taking notice to my car rapidly approaching and put on the oh **** face. I locked up the brakes but didn't have near enough time to reach a stop. I ended up plowing into her at a sharp T Bone angle followed by my passenger side slapping her car and then I ended up skidding into a farmer's field.
I realize it's just a car but I was so pissed, had she just have looked both ways we both could've avoided this huge inconvenience. I explained to the officers and EMT's what happened and told them that I feel really bad for her but what did she think was going to happen? A witness backed up my story and even the other driver admitted she pulled out without looking my way. This is a totally not a fault accident for me.
They had to cut her out of the car, she looked to be unconcious and def. broke her nose pretty good. I was more pissed than anything, some minor seat belt rash on my neck and a faintly sore knee.
I am very impressed with Infiniti, as hard and direct of a hit as it was and the cabin remained untouched. Things seemed to buckle and absorb the impact very well. As you can see it was a VERY hard impact. I just shut my eyes and pushed back into my seat pushing firmly on the wheel, waited for the car to stop and then ran out......I had my driver's side airbag deploy and that smoke freaks me out.
So, on the good side myself and Mrs. I can't drive walked off alive and my GAP insurance will even out my loan and I can start fresh.
I do plan on staying with Infiniti, never bought the same kind of car twice but I am sold on their Safety reputation after this.
I will probably end up with an 06 to 08 Coupe 6MT w/ Nav or an 07 08 G35 S Sedan 6MT w/ Nav. Something around 20K with low miles....there's a few good candidates but for now I just need to concentrate on getting a rental car.
I will see you guys around and it's been fun with the Coupe but I believe I am leaning toward a sedan this time. Either way Infiniti makes a hell of a car and I will be proud yet again to own one.
And now the ugliness, I hate this picture.
The impact did crack my windshield but as you can see the cabin is untouched. The only broken glass is of the passenger side mirror. Very impressed.
I'm 99% sure that will not buff out. I explained this to the officers there and they concur. LOL

Thanks. Nationwide's been outstanding the past 8 years for me so I'm sure they'll hurry things along. I just need a rental car ASAP.
