Urban.. yes NA.. 300hp stock crank. I never researched Sarona but I like the vent, and they look like they are well made. Thank
Cleric.. it's an optical illusion. Those are the stock manifolds, and they are well behind the tires in a 911. In fact the OEM mufflers are usually in the sides of the bumper right behind the tires. There is heat shielding all up under that area.. much that actually doesn't need to be there anymore. Actually, what needs shielding is the radiator hoses. I may take some of that unnecessary shielding from the mufflers and make a heatshield for the coolant hoses from the header and exhaust. But yes, of course I've thought about wrapping them anyway... just worried with that much thermal efficiency i'd catch the back bumper on fire..lol Got a ton of parts coming in this week.. already have the wp and tstat, got about a dozen coolant hoses coming, 3 idler pulleys, a fuel filter, hood shocks, another maf under warranty, some cf vinyl to wrap the oxidized roof and sunroof panel... probably more. I can't keep up, but it's got to be done. I'm picking my son up from school Thursday afternoon and we are taking the first real road trip to PCA Werks Reunion in Amelia Island FL. I'll be parked in the Corral (non judged) and then spending all day viewing over 500 Porsche cars..from race to street. Free spectator entry, it's the Friday before the Amelia Island Concours. Spending Thursday and Friday night in Jacksonville if anyone is around. |
tons of work on the 911 lately, and even some changes to the GT35RS.. plus pics from PCA Werks Reunion in FL. The 911 performed flawlessly the entire trip and even with all the eye candy on display there it still got the looks.
pics all coming later..too much to do this afternoon. |
Been busy working on the 911 and basically following the same preventive maintenance path as the G35.. replace things BEFORE they fail. Some things I didn't get to are the alternator and its mounting ear.. thus I'm driving the G right now for the week.
Nice to have it to fall back on, that's why it pains me to put it up for sale. Still not finished cosmetically, with a lot of parts sitting around, but is fully UpRev tuned now and runs fast and smooth. This G35 is so much fun. Different than the 911 but every bit as fast, and 20mpg enthusiast daily driven. $8500 firm for forum members |
Nice, but sad. It was fun having ya here :D!
Enjoy that 911 and please do at least one track day in it. |
Thanks Urban. I'm not going anywhere, i'd really love to track both cars. Looking at several PCA HPDE days within a few hrs drive. May be able to track the G there as well since I'm a PCA member.
Last part for the 911 showed up earlier today. I installed it and the car is running but I need to finish bleeding the cooling system tomorrow. Can't wait to drive it again, but I'm loving the G still... having fun steering with the throttle as usual. Stay Tuned |

Here's some G35 content..just a pic I snapped at the soccer field with my boy. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...50d45d9e7a.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...3746545d4b.jpg and a few family pics. Already almost finished another one of a different x pipe design. Flat 6s are cool to mess with |
Nice and short exhaust. Good deal!

The new exhaust is custom all the way. I was disappointed when I opened the stock Borla Pro XS muffler up, so I redesigned my own. I don't like how as soon as the flow enters the muffler the stream is vented, and only a small quarter size communication in the middle. I think my design will have more low end grunt and less drone. I'm having new flanges cut so I can build another complete exhaust and swap them on the dyno. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...22da92c198.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...06448502fe.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...4db9c64d85.jpg It sounds great at WOT and rising revs, but only a little deceleration pop and drone on the hwy. I think I can do better than that, and not spend the multiple thousand$ on a premade system complete with Porsche Tax. The new exhaust isn't finished yet but I just put some finishing touches on the current one, along with 4 new o2 sensors https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...7edcf33248.jpg Wheels may be changing again today or tomorrow https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...a17629766a.jpg |

What's the exact set up of your exhaust on the G again?
|
topspeed shorty wrapped headers, cheap resonated test pipes, megan y pipe, 2.5" vibrant resonator into 2.5" in/dual 2.25" outs Borla, center exit. Using stock tips
|
That's confusing ! Haha. But custom is the word haha.
