I love your car. How much was the Duplicolor Metalcast Smoke and did you take off the trim off the car to paint it or you just did it on the car?

Onto the metalcast smoke... it was about $7 per can from kragen, but you might be better off ordering it online because not all auto stores carry it. The kragen I got it from only had like 2 in stock @ most & they had to order some from the warehouse because I needed more. We ended up taking the trim off the car, but beware that you need to be careful. Some of my trim got bent, but most of it doesn't matter because my window visors cover it. On my passenger side, the bottom trim got bent & it keeps popping up. I want to eventually re-paint my car later on so I'll probs order a new trim & get it painted by the shop when they re-paint my car, but for now... it looks waaaaay better than the chrome.

you will also need the duplicolor adhesion promoter (clear primer), ground coat & I also used a clear coat. I wanted a dark smoke look so it took a lot of paint to get the darker look. Hope this helps!

I would say paint the lower sills, but if you're going to be doing front/rear & sides soon anyway, might as well save your nickels.

There's not an 05/06 nismo rear... there's the 05/06 oem rear, and the 03/04 nismo rear.

Yea I want to change all the lower sills, so thats why I don't want to get them painted, but for now I just use he Mothers back to black to keep it from fading.

Have you reviewed my threads on the 03 to 05 rear bumper swap? There are a couple extra parts you need to make everything work right.

 

I edited my last reply... I keep confusing you LOL. I was thinking 05-06 rear @ first, but then I saw that the 05-06 rear lip will fit w/ minor modification. I'll probs end up getting that if someone makes the replica. I saw your thread w/ the poll on the rear lip so hopefully someone will be able to make it for us

The poll I made is for a front lip.

The 03/04 Nismo is a rear lip that goes on the OEM bumper. The 05/06 bumper just has a better shape than the 03/04 (without the lip)

 

haha sorry I was talking about the wrong thing LOL! I confused myself & totally typed the wrong thing.

-Ok for the front I want either the nismo or hikkatadori (if I can't find the nismo) & I want the 05-06 front lip haha
-For the rear I want nismo or stillen

Hopefully someone will step up and make a 05/06 front lip replica soon, you can't get them new anymore
