Quick question, when you were "painting" the chrome trimmings, guessing you didnt mask anything, how did you clean the mess up?

g35SedanSC 05-21-2013 05:45 PM

Yeah dude no problem , i just literally plasti - dipped over the chrome as if i was painting it . Are you familiar with plasti-dip ? if you`re not google / youtube it and you`ll get what i mean when i say "peeled off" the body, it literally does peel off and does no damage to the paint .

Yeah, did you do it by coats ? Like first a light coat .. let it dry ( and go do the first coats on the other doors , by the time your back at the first it should be dry ) .. that way when you come by with the other coat the first helps it keep it from running ..

Decreasing Value this is the kinda thread we'll see.

Another PlastiDip thread :OHBOY: We have a lady member here on DRIVER that painted her whole car with this crap? What was once a rare Twilight Blue coupe ended up Smurf blue sorta. I believe I convinced her to remove the PlastiSh!t and return it to OE color She was going to have the hood/bumper repainted to fix the chips, pray she does!

Loll I've seen plastidip cars ehh I think they look nice from far but up closed not to good , I love plastic dip for small things like this but I dnt think I would do the whole car haha

jookyshank 05-22-2013 01:17 PM

Good mods on a budget no doubt (something I can appreciate)

I too am confused by the plastidip craze, I recently got "schooled" on the facebook group about how Plasti is the next greatest thing instead of paint! *shrug*

I've seen a few results and it's fine for that "BoB" mentality but I will never accept it as a "high end" alternative to paint.

Sorry OP didn't mean to rant in your thread.. time for some wheels now eh!?!

MdotCline 05-22-2013 07:02 PM

The Tanabe springs dropped it nice.

A couple of questions....

1. Did you buy the Coupe struts new or pick them up used somewhere?
2. Are the coupe struts from the Sport model?

saywat? 05-22-2013 07:08 PM

why do people like to post pics of their plastidip "mods" ...if it can even be called that. its really not that fkn fascinating people! its almost as bad as people posting pics of their car after they got tint

It is modification thread showing what all he has done to his car that isnt stock.

Some people might not want to paint emblems, etc. without seeing it done on a similar car to gauge how much they like it.

Dont be such a dick. Just move past it to the next thread without making unnecessary posts - like this one.

I agree I wouldn't consider that sorta thing a modification but the thread serves a legit purpose and can be used for informational reasons if searched in the future.
