HungLo's Progression Thread: 06' 6MT QX1 Sedan

I figured I would start a journal/progression thread of sorts since I am into modding.
I picked up a 2006 g35 sedan about 1 month ago, 6mt with no sunroof and 1 original owner. The car is clean for the year, has a few small things here and there I would like to fix. I chose this over an 08' g35 6mt sedan because I like how the 05-06 looks, plus with the QX1 color and no sunroof, those were 2 options/things I really wanted. Anyhow, on to the pics.

The first thing I ordered was a set of coilovers. I went with the Top Speed coils, 10/7 rate.

I had to wait a week or so to install them since I wanted to add some wheels, so I came across some Work reps, Linea Corse Dyna 19x8.5 offset unknown. Tires are Sumitomo HTR Z III, 225/35/19.

I did not roll the fenders on the car when I lowered it. As it is now I have no rubbing issues. I was scrapping the front mudguards over bumps and that was getting annoying, so I removed those and dropped the car a little more in the front and also some in the rear.

Removed front guards and added 15% tint all the way around

I've got an Ionic front lip and emblemless front grill that should be installed very soon. I am also in process of changing the front speakers and rear speakers out, since I have the non bose system. I'll post some updates on those today or tomorrow. I also purchased a low profile jack @ Harbor Freight so I can do an oil change later on as well, probably go with some Royal Purple.

I also have a Megan Y pipe waiting at the house and I am still debating which exhaust to match it with. So it's going to collect dust in the meantime.

Here was my previous car, an Infiniti g20 5spd, that went from this:

to this after ordering a bunch of Nissan Primera conversion parts and getting a fresh 3 stage pearl paint job

I'm looking forward to what I can do with the G35

Sorry about the large pics, I'm used to them being resized on other forums. I'll keep that in mind when I post them next.

Thanks!

Here are some more pics. I received the Ionic front lip painted and the emblemless grille

Also I got the front and rear fenders rolled, with a slight pull in the rear. After I do a test fit with the 19x11 rears I will see if the need is there for a bigger pull.

Thanks, and who are you telling, I hope they hold up as well! So far so good but I'm maxed in the front and there is still 1 finger gap. I need to get that sorted.

spacers added and lowered the rear some more. I am maxed out in the front and it's not low enough. Its not a matter of removing a collar or 2, There is still about 4 inches of thread body left so until I figure out the next step then the front is staying where its at

I decided to take a little pre load off the front coils and I was able to lower the car more

Got tired of looking at the headlights so I bought a powerball and some plastic x then went to work, 5 minutes each headlight later:

To end the day I decided to take the spoiler off and debadge the car. Temporarily, the trunk is matte white plasti dip (due to discoloration from a crappy spoiler install)
HungLo's Progression Thread: 06' 6MT QX1 Sedan-ugkxa3k.jpg

Had to raise the car up a few mm's since I was rubbing quite a bit and scrapping on a few bumps. I have a plenum spacer and ztube with k&n drop in on it's way. I should have those installed later on in the week.

Thanks. Spacers are adapters, got them from a no name company that does machine work. Fronts are 32mm but I need a slight pull, which I will get soon. The rears are 25mm and its fine.

Yeah I recently sold that car. It was ericdd's car before I changed it up completely.
Thanks for the compliment
