Blacked out headlight housing and igor's angel eye kit!!! **pics inside**

ok guys...so i FINALLY got my headlight housings painted glossy black to match my grille...and i got igor's angel eye kit installed...here are a few pics i just took...they did not turn out good at all...you guys are probably wondering why i didn't take any with the angel eye's out, but that because it was too bright when i took the pics and you couldn't tell the angel eye's were on it just looked like the regular low beams were on... iwill take some more pics outside tomorrow when i get a chance...but here you go guys, tell me what you think!

ugaexploder Nov 9, 2008 01:30 AM

that's tight, i like how you took our the orange side reflectors

ckp Nov 9, 2008 01:32 AM

uga...i actually just painted over it black...but ya i hated that amber reflector!

ugaexploder Nov 9, 2008 01:37 AM

i wonder if it would look better w/o the orange bulb in there...i used to have some stealth bulbs that still flash amber but when not lit it's a silver color...wonder what happened to them....

ckp Nov 9, 2008 01:39 AM

ya i am going to do that stealth bulb...i was going to do it today, but i couldn't have them ordered in on time...so i'll put them in sooner or later...

must look tight at night time with the angel eyes...

ckp Nov 9, 2008 03:59 AM

they look sick at like dusk/night...and at dusk time i can drive with only the angel eye's on so its pretty cool...

How did you wire up the eyes? They always on or something? You do this yourself? how hard was it? looks sweet btw.

ckp Nov 9, 2008 06:12 AM

wiring was real simple. i just tapped the angel eye's into the wiring for the parking lights...so the angel eye's turn on when i turn my parking lights on...and they also stay on when I fully turn my headlights on as well. installing the angel eye was not hard. just time consuming tearing everything apart, and unsealing/sealing the headlight housing back together took a while...you have to have LOTS of patience for this type of work on a car...thanks for the comments...i am happy with the outcome!!

definitely need better pics with less reflection so we can appreciate what you did.

Looks good ckp. Need better pictures in the daytime.

Hey, I thought you said you weren't experienced doing car stuff. Looks like you're a pro!

As much as I've done suspension work, full stereo installs, and basic maintenance, I've never took a headlight apart so, while I'd really like to paint my housings, I'm apprehensive about it. Do you know of a good DIY for this?

ckp Nov 9, 2008 12:54 PM

ohhh hahaha i didn't do it all my self. i did the work witha buddy who has a shop. But I think when I have the right tools around me, I could do it my self...
