Looks nice

the only spot is the cutting of the battery cover at one spot. I can take a pic of that spot and show you...

i second the "how muchies?". i thought they stopped making these because they went bad or NRG went out of business or something and TEIN was the only other manufacturer.

Hood Dampers.............

Those dampers look good! I just removed my Tein dampers because they made a crazy noise when opening or closing the hood. Plus they made my
hood stand up about a 1/4" which pissed me off........another mod in the
trashcan!:icon20:

yea i have heard all positive things about these hood dampers. PLus they were so easy to install.

Do these wear out like other hood shocks, especially if you're under the hood a lot?

theyre gas shocks, of course theyll wear out. but they have a claimed lifespan of 100,000+ uses

here's two links that popped up on google:

http://forum.mazda6club.com/lofivers...hp/t52136.html

http://forum.mazda6club.com/lofivers...49596-250.html

apparently, the first version of these had issues due to using the cheapest parts possible. now it looks like they're using stainless for the joints so they should hold up much better.

Not to jack your thread, but here a picture of mine to help clarify things for those who have not seen these.

No drilling required, only the battery cover needs a little notch sanded in it to allow the damper to bolt onto the frame. If you guys look under your hood at about where the battery cover needs to be sanded, you'll see and existing bolt that the damper mount will replace.

What does the shock connected to the engine do? I didn’t think it moved around that much.

g35man04 04-30-2007 12:24 AM

the one that i have in my picture. ITs an engine torque damper. When you get on your car your engine will move some...this prevents it from doing that which transfer the energy to your wheels...
