Re: Chicago Area Upgrades

I have not done any upgrades buit I have heard that Drivers Image in Skokie is a good place to go. What were you thinking of doing for upgrades?

Re: Chicago Area Upgrades

The only mod I did really wasn't local - I bought (from Tirerack.com) a set of 17 inch Mille Miglia rims with Pirelli Snow Sports for the tires because I did not want to gamble on Chicago winter's and the 18-inch summer-compound performance tires I got with the stock coupe I bought (BS 5AT loaded - Aero, Prem, Perf, NAV)

The set came already balanced and I had a Firestone in Arlington Heights install them since I am lazy and don't have the proper jacks/stands (NEVER change out your tires with the jack kit that comes with your car - you are gambling bigtime!)

They grip superbly both in snow and the dry - Blizzaks are also very good but I wanted an all-Italian setup (Italian booties for my coupe!) - I drive with confidence in virtually any weather conditions.

I have a grand total of three coupes since buying mine Dec. 6th - and one of those was at the dealer when I was there! I like the fact G35's are still relatively uncommon, it's nothing special to see a BMW, no matter what the model, but it is special to see a coupe or sedan!
