New 2008 G35 sedan owner!
New 2008 G35 sedan owner!
Hello all. I finally got my G35 sedan. It's 2008 pearl white paint/stone leather journey + premimum pkg + sport pkg, 5AT.
It has a S badge on it, I thought they dont do that anymore for 2008. Its only for sport 6mt... So I thought it's 2007 but it comes with the XM attenna/radio and 3 month free so i guess its 2008... And the dealer assured me it was 2008. The production label on says 08/2007.
Originally I was going to get a 6mt model, but after several drives with different 2007 6mt, the transmission was too rough, and the interior is not designed for 6mt, because there is a lack of wrist/arm pad behind the stick gate, many times I ended up resting my wrist over the heat seat buttons and turning them on, the I gave the 2008 5AT a try, the tiptronic and the paddle shifter works well, the shifting is very very fast, seems faster than previous 2007 5AT that I test drove before.
Other cars I considered are Lexus IS350, the interior and head room was too small. BMW 335i, the consumer report's reliability history is bad and the price difference is considerable. So I decided to get G35 sedan.
Consumer report rating and pricing guide's reliability overall rating for Lexus IS350 is 'better than average' overall , G35 gets 'better than average' overall, BMW 3 series gets' average' overall. The Consumer book is a pretty cool book, I got it from a local book store for $10.
Price out the door was $37,500. CA tax.

Congrats on your new G; I am also looking for the exact same color/combo.
The 2008 comes with the sport package that includes the "S" badge; what you heard was that they are no longer offering the sport trim, but you can get the sport option (same difference, really).
I would like to ask you though, did you get the car for $37,500 total? When you say OTD, or out the door, that includes CA tax/lic/reg? Or was the vehicle sales price $37,500 before CA tax/lic/reg?

Basically I paid $500 over invoice; The car, sport pkg, and prem. pkg at invoice plus $500.
I was seriously considering the 08 G35 Journey with Sport in IP, but once I found out they no longer offered the graphite, I decided to hold off. I do think it's a great color though. All other Infiniti models offer the IP/Graphite combo. What was Infiniti thinking??

there is no 2008 g37 sedan because the 3.7 engine wont fit in the sedans.
no worries though, the g35 and g37 are pretty much identical in speed.
the g37 is a bit heavier and thats where the extra 30 hp make up
