I am reading on this forum which is a good option and one that can be done without draining more money than required.

you have any suggestion? I think if i go for springs, i will have to get the shocks too which will increase my budget. Not aware much about coils. What's your opinion?

is it ok to continue with mineral oil or should i change it to synthetic. it has around 93500 miles. also, should i give them k&n oil filter (HP-1008 or PS-1008) or let them use their own?

if mineral oil, which one should i go for? infiniti dealer charges $40 for oil, filter, labor and wash. is it a good price?

i get my camry done at midas for $25 including tire rotation. should i continue with them?

any advice is much appreciated

 

Welcome to the community! Nice looking sedan, pearl white has always been my favorite color. Not sure what wheel size and suspension you had on the Camry, G rides firmer by default, plus yours came with sports package, so the higher sensitivity to road feel is expected. You could try checking the alignment, replacing power steering fluid, and adjusting the tire pressure to see if it improves the ride harshness.

It's up to you, they both serve the purpose. I was daily driving my car and on dealership oil change until 85k+ miles. I was told once that the dealership uses synthetic blend oil in our cars, maybe someone can chime in on this. IMO $40 for oil change and wash from dealership is not too bad. Higher labor cost at dealership is expected. I'd bet it's be about the same if you brought your Camry to Toyota for oil change.

I will confirm and report the tire size. I don't expect camry like suspension since it would take away the fun of cornering. But ride is firm, but i am getting used to it. I adjusted the tire pressure. Will get the fluid change and alignment checked in next service.

I don't mind spending more for synthetic if it will give me long/short term gains. Most people here D.I.Y for oil change, but i can't risk playing with it. i will ask dealership about synthetic blend then will decide to go for it or not. what about oil filter?

 

^ Believe me this ivory pearl white is no boring color, have some minor exterior mod it easily stands out in the crowd. Plus I've seen less white sedans than silver and graphite ones, which makes it special too.

On the oil it really depends on the gains you want. IMO if you're driving normally and change the oil on dealership recommended intervals, you should be fine with either oil. I switched to synthetic for the purpose of extending oil change intervals, and I'm still testing to find the one works best for me. On the filter you can use K&N, Wix, or the OEM ones, some of us opt for the larger FX45 oil filter for more filtration area.

Got that good of mileage in your camry? Mine use to be around 21-22 mpg for a 97 4 cylinder. And welcome!

 

When i was driving camry, it use to be 28 mpg. No more than that. For past month, my girl friend drives it and she gets anywhere from 29.47 to 31 mpg depending on her drive day. I just refueled camry and last one gave 29.77 mpg from tankful to tankful.

I can't think of any mod that i could do to make it look better. Any suggestions? I was looking to lower it, but for now don't have budget to do so. I agree, i see more of silver and graphite and very less white.

I will stick with mineral oil and do regular oil change. I hope they let me provide oil filter from my side. If i decide to get k&n oil filter, do i still change it at all oil change or does it have a longer life?

You can get Mobil1 5W/30 at WallMart at a very reasonable price, order K&N filters on line and you can use HP1010 which is just slightly larger than the normal G filter. Find an independent shop in your area that will change your oil/filter, shouldn't cost more than $10. Keep your tire pressure at 35/37 psi which is what Nissan recommends for best wear and handling. Search subject lowering, you'll discover it won't be cheap regardless of which way you go springs or coilovers.

I will inquire about a shop that can change oil and oil filter. If i get positive reply from a good place i won't hesitate to go ther.

I searched about lowering and lowest price is found is $800-$1000 range. Too high for now. May be next year. Before that i would like to improve sound system.

 

Guys, need valuable suggestion

there is a major scratch on right external mirror which is very prominent. If you see the 3 pics on page 1, the first pic with door opens clearly shows it. i was wondering if i should apply a black CF Wrap on both the mirror to hide it. Is it a good idea?

Another alternative i came across is to use this

Similarly, the right side rear color coded mud flap has paint peeled off, is it again a good idea to apply CF on all four border at all 4 wheels?

My car is ivory peal which is white in color. Please advice any other alternative.

Also will 24'x24' good enough to do the wrap?

g35_white, how about a far better alternative than wrap, check out www.drcolorchip.com. They make the very best touch up paint on the market, follow the instructions and you'll never know those scratches were there. Start adding different color wrap to your beautiful IP sedan body and she'll get fugly!
