Hi all,
Meet my new 2005 G35! This is a fairly clean six speed sedan with 118k on the clock. It seems as though it is fairly loaded with the navigation, sunroof, auto-windows, heated seats, and so on. As I understand it, this has a RevUp motor in it, but I'm sure people know more about this than I do regarding what it has on it. What I do know is that it has a Borla catback exhaust and a Stillen intake. If you have a source of good information to read about these cars, feel free to let me know. I still own my previous vehicle (a 1986 Nissan 720). I am fairly active on the Ratsun forum, so I will try and be equally as active here. In the meantime, the only thing that I found wrong with this car is that one of the marker lights is not working, and the navigation screen doesn't stay up. My plans for this car include detuning it back to stock (owner tuned it on 91), and maybe replacing the Bose headunit with an Apple Carplay double-din. If anyone knows about any of those things, let me know. Enjoy the pictures! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...36bb20c308.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...c9159093f9.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...7deb567866.jpg |
Congrats on your new ride! Lakeshore Slate is my favorite color but I'm biased. ;) You are in the best source to read about all things G right here. The forum's been around almost 17 years and is a huge database for most everything you need to know and answer almost any question you will have about your new baby. If your car is tuned with Osiris I would highly recommend to not de-tune it. You can make adjustments to the tune to set it to more of what you want it to do very easily, our member guru on Osiris is seymore4 and he's super helpful for those with questions or need new parameters. I'll give you a head start on the subject, read through this thread. https://g35driver.com/forums/tuner-d...6-uprev-q.html
And since you're no stranger to forum life you probably already know to read through the stickied threads at the top of the sub-forums, they're a great resource for a lot of commonly sought knowledge. Welcome to the family and we hope you enjoy your stay. |

Welcome to the family and we hope you enjoy your stay. You guys do an awesome job on here. On the Datsun side of things it's not as pretty. We had a site called "720world" before my time, but over time people became less active and moved over to Ratsun.net. It's more of a classic forum in that there are just categories for different vehicles (510, B210, 620, 720, ect) and everyone just sort of posts a build thread and runs with it. At least on the 720 side we're fairly simple creatures; we complain about the lack of ZDDP additives in today's oil, bitch about how shitty stock Hitachi carburetors are, and brag about how many times we've done headgaskets as the Z24 motor (the grandpa of the KA24) blows headgaskets every 100k almost to a T. Personally, moving into the G-world seems like a natural progression. I learned my chops with a simple Nissan truck: brakes, wheel fitment, belts, hoses, headgasket, water pump, radiator, paint. I think I can tackle most things mechanical, and I'm excited to learn about the electrical side. I'm sure you guys will be happy to have me. |
That's funny, we have 97 Hardbody that has 237K miles on it and it's the biggest POS ever. But it runs, or will when I replace the ignition switch, and is one of the most durable vehicles we have ever owned. Also don't waste your $$$ in the RP oil, German Castrol Edge is the favorite of a lot of us and it's significantly cheaper.

I think any Nissan/Infiniti guy has a Hardbody with 250k+, or has a buddy who has one! I considered simply upgrading from a 720 to a hardbody, but they’re impossible to find in any reasonable condition up here in MN. Yeah, I got raked over the coals for the RP, but I figured I would give it a try. I’m so used to running Shell Rotella diesel oil in my truck that I don’t know much about the other brands. |
Hiya
Nice car, I have to say that I really like the color. That color pops in the pics, I am sure it really looks good in person.
