First Mods For My G35?

Hey I’ve researched on here a lot but it’s my first time posting. I have an 04 G35 Sedan and I’m wondering what to do as my first mods? I don’t really know anything about cars at all so it’s kind of difficult understanding. So far I’ve seen people say get a Stillen Z tube intake,Motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer, and Buddy Club Racing Coilovers. I also want to do a muffler delete which is more affordable I am in a tight budget and trying to get the best mods I can. I posted pictures of the products and pricing if you guys can help me out .

I strongly recommend you do a little research first. There are literally THOUSANDS of threads where these questions have been asked and answered

Welcome to the forums.

On a car that is 16 years old, you should be more focused on preventative maintenance. If your car still has the original bushings you can expect to replace those soon, aftermarket bushings will improve handling and longevity. Replace all fluids if you don't know the maintenance history. I wouldn't recommend spending money on mods until the basics are taken care of first.

Honestly I would avoid the muffler delete in addition to all the other advice you've heard already.
In my opinion, SAVE UP!

Get a good quality exhaust.
AVOID the ebay imitation HKS crap as well.

A good used exhaust will be cheaper vs the coils you're looking at.
You'll be MUCH happier in the end.

Depends what you want to do.

If you want to focus on what to do with the engine out I would change the headers, stock ones are great but there’s better out there, because everything else you can do easily with the engine in the car lol. I’m personally going to stay with the stock ones but again it’s all about preference.

Now with that being said if it’s a fresh engine for me it would be Z-Tube and a Drop in K&N air filter followed by Coils. The plenum spacer is something I’m looking into getting right now so I can’t comment much but have read and heard nothing but good things, especially with a tune. The G’s sound pretty good stock so I’d personally lower it first so you can get used to driving low and damage your own exhaust before the nice one lolz.

For an intake, I run the Stillen Z-tube and the stock Rev-up intake box. They are great and relatively easy on the wallet. You also need the 350z PCV hose for the Z-tube to fit perfect. Coupe mid-pipe is a great way to get more tone/sound from the exhaust. I'd go over & run through the suspension before investing in coilovers or shocks.

Thank you, maybe any links or searched to make to find a good exhaust?

I strongly recommend you find some local G owners with aftermarket exhausts and hear them in person. Everyone has their own preference and that way you will get something that you know you like.

Not to sound like a parrot..but exactly what Cleric said!

After hearing multiple exhausts in person, I decided on the Fast Intentions Intimidator back in 09.
Keep in mind, I already came from an HR Y Pipe, Berk High Flow Cats on Stock Coupe exhaust setup.

The HFCs made my car loud but not in an obnoxious way but was alot for me to handle at first.
I almost sold off my exhaust but after multiple people saying are you nuts I came to my senses and kept it.

Best decision I made for my car honestly. That thing sounded AMAZING especially with the HFCs.
Got complements EVERYWHERE I went. Especially the startup sound.

Always had people trying to race me just to hear my car. (That's the unfortunate part)

I also tried out the Invidia Gemini on my coupe and had it before I sold the car. I like that one for different reasons vs the FI exhaust.

I said all that to echo who Cleric said. You won't know what you like until you hear it in person.
Too many people just chop off their mufflers and think they have an exotic car when in reality you have no idea what you're missing when it comes to aftermarket exhausts especially on this car.

You have a sedan like I do now...IMO you can do 1 of 2 things that will make your car sound awesome.
I'm going the first route for now and may eventually do the 2nd one.

1. Stock Cats, HR Y Pipe, Coupe Mid Pipe and stock muffler. OR Stock Cats, HR Y Pipe, 05-06 Sedan Mid Pipe and stock muffler.
2. Stock Cats, HR Y Pipe, Coupe Mid Pipe, Charcoal Canister relocate, custom rear Y pipe and then you have the option to do dual mufflers in the back!
I won't tell you what I'm going with yet but when I go down this road I'll be sure to do a full thread / videos etc on the the setup at that time.

^^ THAT setup ^^ will sound AMAZING on the VQ35DE. Not obnoxious, but exotic, louder than stock, and sporty for sure.

Best of luck to you man
