what's up with Nissan dealership?

I was calling a few dealerships to see how much they charge for oil change. Parv Ave wants $46.95 and Ramsey where I bought my car does it for $36.95.
After reading a few posts, I thought about taking my car to EastCoast Nissan in Englewood Cliffs, which is literally 2 min away from me, plus on their website they were offering a special $29.99 for oil change and tire rotation. I called them and a woman in the service dept in a nasty tone said "We dont service Infiniti G35 here". So I said thats too bad b/c many Nissan dealerships do. Whats up with that?

because they don't want to be responsible of anything in case it needs to be done. i can't service my nissan at my job even for an oil change -- it's all liability issues.

It makes sense what you are saying and I wouldnt have thought to go to Nissan, but from reading this forum i was under the impression that a number of members get their oil changes at a Nissan dealership.

I think they are just blowing you off dawg.

Where I bought my G from they had a Z up on the rack when I went to pick up my ride.

Maybe they just don't have confidence in the dudes working under the hood.....:D

A VQ is a VQ no matter what lift it's on.

but it's the same to go to jiffy lube and have someone change your oil for $20 bucks

I just quit my job at Lynnes Nissan in Bloomfield in NJ in December. Was working there for a while as an auto tech. Anyway, we service any kind of car. Especially since we sell used cars too and have to service a variety of them. The rep probably just meant that the special only applied to Nissans. I never worked on my car there just because but, if your talking about the special I think your talking about, it doesn't apply to Z's and therefore doesn't apply to the G's. It's because all the other cars use cheaper oil and the VQ engine uses synthetic, at least that's what we used there. Also, why don't u just change it yourself? Its just a plug that you unscrew underneath and unscrew the oil filter. Maybe im being biased since I'm a tech. Well, if you would like to do it and need help, let me know. I'll help you out!
