So my wife and I come out of the restaurant and look what I find. Now, being that I have over 100 hours of accident investigation training at the Academy, I have investigated over 400 traffic collisions, assisted on countless others, and i'm trained on LIDAR ranging to obtain measurements for complex scenes, uh, I'm pretty sure the Pontiac hit my parked G. Leave a note on my windshield? Nope. I call Campbell PD and they come out. They go to all the business and try to find the owner. Owner? It's a rental car. Dammit! It gets worse. PD comes back with no luck of finding the driver, so he begins to investigate a hit and run. I just want to exchange info and go home. As PD is getting ready to tow it, the renter stumbles out and wants to know what's going on. PD tells him he hit my car. Guy says in a thick Scottish accent, "No I didn't." The cop in me wants to unload, but I bite my tounge and let PD handle it. After the guy matches up the damage, he says, "Oh, maybe I did, I didn't even feel it." As you guessed, the guy is just in CA for business and is returning to Scotland in a few days. Just great.

good thing he's foreign.. they are REQUIRED to take rental car insurance.. so you can handle it with the rental company!
