Prices are great right now. For one person it's $405 + $327 taxes & fees = $732 per person. Orbitz has price assurance so if the price dips lower you pay that price instead! These are prices that I paid when I went the first time in 2002 compared to the $1400 I paid in 2005. Like I said, great prices!
On top of that I've been keeping my eye on the currency exchange rates for the past few years. In 2002 it was 0.55 and it's been going up ever since. Just last year the Australian Dollar was 1 to 1 with the American dollar but now it's back down to a very low rate: 0.65! So in other words, you give them 1 USD and they give you back 1.52 AUD back. Go into McDonald's for a McRoo burger and the prices in AUD look about the same as here but in reality you're spending less for everything!
Hotels. We can stay in Sydney but then you'd be spending way too much. Instead you go out further to the smaller towns like Parramatta or even Bankstown where you can stay in hotel/casinos for like $70 AUD per night depending on if it's a weekday or weekend; less on weekdays, of course.
Things to do! If you like beaches then you'll love Sydney! Number one beach is Bondi beach. Beautiful!
Second best beach is Manly. Only problem is that July is their winter time but their winter is like San Francisco's summers. You'll still find nice, sunny, warm days.
Food. Food is so good in Australia. Sydney is diverse like Bay Area. There's a big Asian population so you'll see lots of Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants along with lots of Lebanese places. If you love kebab you'll love Sydney. And let's not forget Australian food too! Meat pies are big down there. So good. Brekkie (breakfast) is the best. You'll get 3 different types of meats with your eggs but don't expect American style bacon, you get more of a Canadian bacon instead. Oh and you must try Vegimite with your toast!
Don't worry, there's a Starbuck's on every corner down there too.We can all take a 4 or 5 hour car trip to Jindabyne if you guys wanna go snowboarding; however, we can do that here so it would be best if we go as far as the Australian capital--Canberra--instead.
Anyway, this is just a feeler to see how many of you want to go. I'm going to start a list. If you have any questions feel free to ask! And if you've already been there feel free to add to what I've said.
Thanks and see you in Sydney!!
Warning: Do NOT buy your tickets until we all agree we're going!! Don't blame me if you end up going alone!!!!

We talk about it but nothing more than that. We will, sooner or later, just watch!
Have fun in Mexico! What part are you going to?
