rims and tires! I need help :(

ok guys, so right now i'm sitting on the factory 03 sports rims (7 spoke ones) and i plasti-dipped them black, but since i will soon be slamming my car on coils, i obviously am gonna need new rims after to make it look nice:) i'm looking at ROTA P-45R'S, the only problem is that I am currently sitting on the factory 225 tire size in the front and 245 in the rear..I am trying to not get new tires since i got them not too long ago, is there ANY WAY you guys think that if i put 18x9.5 in the front AND rear, (yes i know it will be stretched) will it fit? i know the rear can since the tires bigger but im worried for the front, someone help me! Plus, are our factory rim size 18x8? or is it 18x8.5???? LET ME KNOW :D

what offset

so you're looking to reuse the tires right?

whats your budget for wheels. maybe we can provide other alternatives

TORETTO 05-16-2012 03:35 PM

personally the rota grids look a lot better in my opinion. nice concave to them.

i like the hyper black color.

you could get the 18x9.5 +20 (lowest offset on wheeldude).

you will need a 20mm spacer up front to be flush. or 25mm.

the rears will need an even bigger spacer.

TORETTO 05-16-2012 03:53 PM

oh i found a staggered set that they sell.

this one is 9.5 +15 and 10.5 +15. you'll still need like a 15-20mm spacer up front and possibly a 25mm in the rear.

but my concern would be stretching that 245 onto the 10.5

Yeah I bought the car in November, front tires had 80% tread left and the rear had like 35% so in January I got new rear tires ( bridgestones ) but factory size 245..so I'm not trying to pay another **** ton of money for tires and try to use them on my new rims. And rotas grids don't make 18's? Well i think ive seen a couple but people get them on 17's normally on what i see..And for rims I REALLY don't wanna pay more than 200 a rim. Aspecwheels.Net has good deals on rota's and xxr's. They just don't bring too much different options on offsets and such, the offset I want is 20, but if I grt 30 I'm definitely getting spacers, what Do u guys think? I don't wanna get something I'll regret later:/

10.5 might be too much, I think x10 would be best when it comes to that size

TORETTO 05-16-2012 05:45 PM

The Rota grids come in 18s. Most evo friends I know on rotas are on 18s.

The staggered 18s is your best bet.

What you could do, is sell your new rear tires. Then buy some other used ones that are just as good tread.

WTF?? 05-16-2012 07:05 PM

Dont be in a rush to mod...

REAL upgrades takes some time to save money so you can purchase quality items that will last longer.
If you cheap out on wheels, you most likely end up bending a wheel or two (yes i know not always, but its likely),
which would cost you more in the long run with more headaches.

I say just save up some more cash and get mods that will last and turn heads.

But yes, like Me Gusta said, selling those tires you just bought and getting another set that fits your rims
is part of what needs to be done sometimes.

Good luck

i know you stated you don't want to get something you'll regret later, and i think getting 9.5 all around is something you'll regret.

i'll show you at the wheelsnmeals how 9.5 +25 looks on the front.

my fronts are 18x9.5 +25.

The rotas will be 9.5 +20, which is just another 5mm more. My fronts are sunken in about 25mm (1 inch). So you'd still be needing a 20mm spacer with that. The rears will probably need an even bigger one.

Which is why getting a 10.5 for the rears are your best bet. Find someone who will trade for your tires.
