Gordgee's 10-Wire Kit
Hey, does anyone have this installed? I was thinking about doing this mod because I want to increase my MPG and shifting efficiency. I have a 2005 G35 Coupe.
Gordy kit is great. Do a search you should fine what you need or PM Gordy.
Hey JWang. Grounding wires do not improve MPG. They will give better shifting response for most cars though. That said, I think it's a good investment for the price.
What is the price for Gordgee's kit? Btw, I found this on EBAY and it says that it increases fuel efficiency.

Hit the "Review" section under Engines and check out the Gord Gear link. You'll find this and much more already discussed numerous times. |
I am deciding to get this mod and maybe along with the GroundingGear™ Activated Carbon HEPA Filter. Can anyone help me install it? =]
I have both teh filter and the grounding kit. You wont be dissapointed with either. Way better manual shifts for the grounding kit, and as far as the filter,
once you go Hepa, you never go back! :p I can actually pass by the ebmud facility, going onto the Bay Bridge, without gagging now. |

Does the filter need to replaced, and if so how often? Also, does it need cleaning? How does it differ in stock filter?
Yes it does need to get replaced every 12K or so (depending on how dirty yours is). Gord's has a layer of charcoal that the stock doesn't have. I just PM'd him because I need to order one, maybe we'll save on shipping if we want to order together. I'm waiting to hear back from him.
You should really do some searches, this topic has a gazillion posts and you'll even find pictures of some really nasty cabin filters caked with dirt, leaves, and, no kidding, rat droppings. |
After doing some major research and speaking with actual electronics experts, I found out that it's just for looks. It actually makes no difference in performance whatsoever.
No difference in performance? That seems unlikely when a lot of people on this forum have raved about it.
hey jwang, i'm thinking about buying a kit from gordgee too. i'm in the bay area, perhaps we can combine orders to save on shipping. let me know!
Yeah, sounds good.
