Don't let Beaverton Infiniti wash your car
 

Next time I'll have to tape a HUGE sign on my steering wheel that says "Do Not Wash".

The first time I had to get service done, I told them to not wash my car, and they obliged.

I took my car there again for some more warranty work a few days ago. I told them to not wash my car, 3 separate times. They even told me they would leave a note on the keychain, to remind the valet...

Well... I picked my car up, and I noticed my car was washed :mad:
I figured it couldn't be that bad.... Well, I was wrong :eek: It looks like they washed my car with nothing but a rag and water. Looks like they might have used their shoes to dry the car. I have scratches (some of them pretty deep), on every g'damn panel of my car. I'm not talking single long scratches... I mean groups of 5-20 scratches all over the car. A lot of them aren't swirl marks either. Many of them look like they tried to rub something out, and decided to use sandpaper to do it. Others look like they might have been wearing a bracelet while washing my car, as the scratches are long, but very jagged going in several directions.

Before I brought my car in, I put my stock wheels back on, because I didn't want to risk them backing my car into a curb, like they did the first time. While I was putting my wheels back on, I thought maybe I was being anal. Boy was I glad I decided to do that. I don't know what I would've done if they tried to clean my Work Wheels with chrome polish or something.

I'm so pissed right now.... (Sorry for posting this, I just had to vent)

I understand your situation.

I went to Infiniti of Kirkland to get my first oil change. I specifically told the Service Department for vacuum only and no car wash. They even put a post-it note on the work order that said, "NO WASH. VACUUM ONLY."

I go to pick up my car and its been washed. I do a quick check and noticed no scratches, then went home to check thoroughly. Luckily, there weren't any noticable scratches at all.

It seems to be the general consensus to not let any dealership wash your cars. Sorry to hear man.

My new car was shipped from Beaverton up to Infiniti of Tacoma at Fife and was washed (at Beaverton) though I told them to not wash and even leave the plastic on the car... Grrr... A few light swirls in the clear, but I'm sure I can buff it out.

Now for the rain to stop so I can do the complete Mezerno/Zaino treatment (the humidity amplifies the difficulty).

Next time you stop at the dealership, tell them it's a show car and you'll chargeback hourly labor to undo any swirls they put into the paint. Even though Bob in the back doesn't understand that washing with a Brillo pad might leave a bit of a mark, I'm sure the service manager can appreciate the fact that you will hold him personally liable.

That still gets me like a punch in the nads... We just spent tens of thousands, treat us with a bit of respect, eh?

I had the same experience there. I spent about 6 hours polishing and waxing my sedan the day before it went in for some rattles, pull to the right, etc..... and it was spotless. I specifically asked them not to vacuum or wash the car as it obviously didn't need it and I had seen them washing another customer's car on a previous visit. They hand washed it all right but the guy washing the car took an old dirty towel from a bucket with black water and scrubbed the entire car down without rinsing the towel out once(which wouldn't have done any good anyway.)

Well, they ended up washing the car anyway and left deep gouges in the clear that you could feel with your fingertip. They said that they would have it detailed for me but I didn't want anyone taking their rotary and burning through most of the clear coat to get the gouges out. (I think the towel they used probably had a nice little pebble stuck in it.) At least this was on a DP and not TB or Black. I can't imagine what it would have looked like on black....

NEVER LET ANY DEALER WASH YOUR CAR!
