This is old faithful even though right now it might not work 100%. I bought this in Jan 2007 for around $1400. It's a full desktop replacement. HP still sells parts for it including all trim pieces, LCD screen, keyboard, internal hardware, cables, mounting hardware.
Problems with it now is that the screen turns on but it's blank and the CD/DVD drive does not burn but can read and also one of the brackets/hinges for the screen is broken. The screen not showing an image can be as simple as the ribbon cable being loose from the video card to the screen. I lost the screw driver I had to work on it and I don't feel like going to get another right now.
This laptop also needs the thermal pad from between the heat sink and CPU changed. I did not change it when I upgraded the CPU and it runs a bit hot. Has stock CPU now. I do have thermal paste instead but it's better to use a new thermal pad.
Included is the following:
It has 2 hard drive bays. 2 hard drives with a combined storage capacity of 570 GBs of space. 1 is SATA 3.0 Gb and the other is 1.5Gb
1 CD/DVD burner. Currently does not work but can read. A new one can be bought without lightscribe for about $50
1 HDMI port.
1 VGA
1 SVideo
1 Firewire
1 SPDIF for optical audio out
1 expansion slot, used to work great to watch TV with a tuner until they stopped broadcasting over the air. Used to get CNN, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, all free.
4 USB ports
Nvidia 7600 dedicated card with 256MB of memory.
WIFI a/b/g
Video Camera
Memory card reader 5 in 1
3 remote controls with 1 extra battery
1 Vista upgrade CD.
It will come with no OS and it is running XP Pro instead of Vista right now. The HDDs will be wiped clean. I no longer have the CD Key for Vista.
My price is $290 shipped or I'll keep it and I'll fix it.
