Canuck's '06 6MT Coupe

Loving this car. Shift light is set at 3700rpm, its killing me........this break in period....The engine just wants to rev. We are at 720kms and counting, almost half way there. These are the first pics Ive taken of her. Crappy day, and batteries in the cam dying. Hopefully I can find some time to give it a nice wash and take some nice pics with my friends nice(er) camera. Car is a stock 6MT coupe with factory done tints. This thing gets lots of looks. Not used to it, comming from a '05 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT Sedan. Cant really compair this car in performance to my '99 Impreza 2.5RS Coupe with a JDM STi engine, trans swap, but then agian, Im still in the break in period. I will update this thread often.....hopefully.

Yep. New neighborhood, nice wide streets, nice people. People have lots of respect for vehicles.

Who cares about break-in !?
Just redline the damn thing as much as you want before it get dusty !

I dont like beating on a car during its first few weeks of life. We had a Sentra SE-R Spec V back in late '01, drove it hard, and a month later the engine was removed and replaced. It was a brand new car. I try to wait through the first 2000km, keeping the RPM below 4K as much as possible. It will make the first time running to redline so much more exciting. Its like waiting for christmas all over again :p

Nah I was kidding ;)
I was gentle with mine overall, but I did went up to 5000-6500k maybe 10-15% of the time

Keeping that thing under 4k is very hard...
You're almost here !

Congrats on your new G Canuck 6MT, where in Canada are you located?

At first I thought our resident Canuck (Shane from NB) made a fast switcheroo from his sedan.
Wayne
Edit...Oh, I just spotted the 401-Dixie plate frame, so you are probably from the GTA. Keep an eye on the Canadian Regional forum for meets.

looks good, you'll love the car :)

Canuck 6MT Jun 15, 2006 01:06 AM

The car feels so slow under 4,000rpm. I assume all the power is made up top. I guess Im used to driving this thing most of the time, so lots of cars feel slow to me  :
