I dont scrap really anywhere with this except steep inclines. it is designed almost basically the same way as the OEM one just sturdy....This provides a very secure feeling attached to the front bumper and it mounts to the exact same point of the OEM undertray. This is not a cheap peice either...its made of a High Quality Stainless steel...when kept really clean it shines but I dont polish mine to often. I have had this on my car for about 1 year now...I just decided to take pics of the undertray yesterday when I was working on my car.

With that being said you can take a look at any time you want. It also has heat exchange vents designed to remove the heat from the engine bay as well as a hole cutout to access the Oil Filter so you dont have to remove the panel to change your oil.

the underbody panel wasnt to bad.....under 400 I believe.

Texasscout 01-20-2009 10:02 AM

Yeah, and I got a new OEM for 50 bux off of ebay. A lot smoother airflow under the car. I would love to see some wind tunnel testing on that, I'll bet you get "lift" from it. Not something you want in the front or back.

How did you do the valentine one mod? Very interested.

g35man04 02-24-2009 08:04 PM

the valentine one mod is a 1 off mod on the car done by a guy local who is no longer around the boards anymore...he doesnt offer that anymore.

ShanesG 02-24-2009 08:08 PM

^theres quite a few Z-guys that have had it done i donno if it's the same guy but maybe check out the Z forum. I seen like 10+ over there...

g35man04 02-24-2009 08:08 PM

yeah its the same guy Shane...he stopped doing them. thats where I got hooked up from.

madmike1029 02-24-2009 08:35 PM

that V1 mod is amazing. How is the reception with the detector located in the rear though?

g35man04 02-24-2009 08:42 PM

I have read through alot of electronic forum that the V1 mounted in the back is better because the rear sensor is alot smaller then the front...

Guess I should've learned about this forum a few years ago when I got my car..... or started posting more when I got on in the first place! lol

Then again, I was a broke college kid when I picked it up initially....

These wheels are uber rare, and sexy! Sadly, you weren't the first to have these on a G though. :thewave:

Agent F 03-04-2009 02:21 AM

Wow, I just stumbled on this forum too and went through all 42 pages. That V1 mod is amazing though, I am disappointed to hear that it's no longer possible.

ShanesG 03-04-2009 04:28 AM

^we'll when i get mine i will more than likely do that mod myself haha so well see how that goes hahaha if all goes well i'll help whoever wants it out!!!

g35man04 03-04-2009 08:46 AM

shane you are going to attempt the v1 Mod?? if so I can find out how exactly the process is done...I know he had the mirror glass taken out and sent somewhere who did all the cutting for him...he takes apart the remote displays and inserts into there wiring everything up to the Phone Cord that comes out the back....

ShanesG 03-04-2009 12:20 PM

^Yeah, i'll hit you up when i get mine!!!

Beebo 03-04-2009 01:30 PM

id like that mod for my v1, g35man04 know anyone that can do the side view mirror LED's like Scootch did?

Shane i cant wait for my grill, hows it coming along?

g35man04 03-04-2009 01:38 PM

I will look around..but the piece is def a one of peice that will be hard to replicate from someone since the lenses on them are made specifically for the G35.

Beebo 03-04-2009 01:39 PM

Thanks

My custom G35 grille (literally) Alot of people always ask where i got it, but it is actually the OEM grille that i had chopped, cut, and fabbed for me so i could retain the ultra perfect OEM fitment:biggthumpup:

How exactly did you actaully get your headlights to have such a tint? I see you have projectors, so I'm wondering what you did

I thinks it more of the way the photo is taken..I think its like HDR or something...you can make the coloring come out that way.

actually its from using a polarizer on the lens. The color comes from offgassing of the paint on the headlight bezel from not curing the paint before reassembly

g35man04 03-20-2009 10:55 AM

REDLUDE to the rescue!! i knew it was from the camera but wasnt sure exactly what..

Joaquin03 03-20-2009 11:03 AM

CPL's do that to all headlights regardless of modification... oh well.

They actually are like that without the camera. That shot i took isnt an HDR but taken with a polarized filter so it brings out the rainbow in the headlights even more.

Especially on a cloudy day, you can really see the rainbow effect. Here are a couple shot as it with no polarized filter.

To some extent this is true. The colors come from the minute thickness variations in the thin film on the cover that leads to light diffractions. This becomes more of an issue after painting due to offgassing leaving a thin film on the inside cover. I was witnessed this first hand on multiple occasions, and have since resorted to curing headlight bezels for extended periods of time to minimize this effect.

xXHotelCrazyXx 03-24-2009 06:30 PM

I love this effect and think it looks great!

Holliday 04-21-2009 02:26 PM

It was alot of work! The gauge cluster was by far the hardest. There was alot of cutting, soldering, and headaches in that thing! The rest was just tedious soldering of LEDs. Thanks for the comments guys!
