... Finally got my Nikon D40 SLR... although I have to exchange it tomorrow, it has a dark spot in every picture near the center of the frame :icon43:

Dude I know.... I didn't get outta work until frickn 8:30 when we closed at 6pm... By the time I got home and ate it was close to 10pm and I was just beat to death tired :o

Your dark spot is probably just dust that can be easily removed by you or a camera shop if you got it locally.

Nice pic, the d40 is a great affordable slr. I sell them all day and am confident in the ability of the d40 and d40x. Though i prefer the cannon 40d =P
