i humbly apologize if i sounded like the millions of *******s who think they know everything, which might include me, lol
but yeh, on a 8.5 & 9.5... my expierence is limited under 10inches , but there are a few factors(tire installer, tire thickness, etc.) that come into play... so usually... if i were in your place, i would goto the tire place and see what they would recommend, probably 225/50.... i would then turn around and tel them to get a set of used 215/40s or 205/45(subtracted +/-10 all around), they will then continue with the whole "its not safe" or "it cant be done" or the lucky "oh, your one of those guys" routines... if they turn you away, its for a good reason. Its because they do not have any experience with stretching and they WILL damage your wheels. so just go to the next shop that will.. which is usually a mom n pops tire shop that does it
