Weekend project - Painted mine and my buddy's IS300 headlights
 

Just thought I'd share ONE quick pic for you guys :). My buddy and I decided Friday morning that we were bored and to paint both of our headlights. It was our first time doing so, and albeit it isn't a perfect job (especially up close, lol), we're both very proud and happy with the results. I also got some Meguiar's Plastx to clean up our headlights since they had some outside hazing, and it helped a TON! Anyhow, we're gonna detail our cars later this week once I get my new Chargespeed bumper on and get some good photos for you guys :biggthumpup:. And yes, our cars are very similar in mods, hah. Hope you like!

LOL...It's funny because I got my car after he got his, so he's been clownin' on me saying I jocked him for getting Ivory Pearl. But then I got my roof overlay put on and got black chrome emblems, and he loved it, so he went out and got vinyl and made his roof overlay himself and painted his emblems afterwards, hah. So I get on his case about that ****. Thing is we have such similar tastes that we decided to just get similar **** done and said fugg it, heh.

Now, here's my .02 regarding the whole headlight painting process...

1) We did his headlights first, and the whole baking and separating the headlight part was a pain in my ***! We had to throw each headlight back in the oven like 4 times, it was ridiculous. But once we got to my headlights, we figured it out and did each headlight on the first try. Either way, pain in the *** to separate them.

2) Since we had to tape **** off to paint some parts silver, it made the whole process 10x harder/longer. If we just painted the whole housing black, we would have shaved at least 3 hours on each car.

3) The hardest parts were separating the headlights, taping them off, and putting the bumper back on. Taking the bumper off and removing the headlights was a piece of cake, but putting the bumper back on blows :\.

Either way, it was gruesome, but fun as **** at the same time. I definitely recommend it! :)
