Debadged G, Dirty Residue Now?
Ok, I debadged my g35, I took off the I N F I N I T I and the G35 Emblems left with only the Fuji, Where the INFINITI was, there is a dirty residue outline of the letters, what would take that away? :confused2: I'm planning to get a nice detail on my car once i can find a day off from work. Also i looked at other threads and saw that others had another problem i had, where INFINITI and G35 USED to be, its discolored compared to the rest of my car, Most said that it goes away as time passes, is that true? Thanks in advance

Your car is an 04, so I would think a lot of waxing and buffing is going to be necessary.
|
Try using a light abrasive polish to see if it removes the ghousting affect.

use GOO GONE....that residue will come off fast...and i have an o4 and i debadged the rear and it did leave a light shadow but its gone now....

Heres what worked for me step by step..
wash the area w/ soap and water... Dry it Clay it w/ a claybar and detalailer.. then wash and dry again Gets some meguiars Scratch X.. pour some of it in your hands and massage it into the paint with your fingers... Grab a buffer and start buffing the scratch X around onto the trunk.. Wait about 5 minutes so it can dry... Then get a diaper cotton cloth and wipe it off. |
I had some great results with Klasse AIO. Got off all my crap and it has no cut as well.

I just debadged my car a few days ago. I didn't have any goo b gone so I used some bug n tar remover spray instead and it worked fine. Then I had ghosting in direct sunlight even after the residue was gone, so I did three coats of a caranuba cleaning wax and that did the trick! Looks pristine. Hope that helps!
I have a 2003 and also removed Infiniti and G35 |
i used Meguiar's Scratch X.. little elbow grease and it works great!!!
|
+1 Goo Gone..
|
here is what I did
1)dental floss to get the letters off(the foamy stuff stayed behind) 2)use your nail to scrape the foam backing off(do not use metal or anything that can scratch the paint) 3)once most of the foam is off use goo gone liberally, let it soak and rub with a shop or regular paper towel 4)when everything is pretty much gone wipe with dish washing liquid 5)apply polish(something like Meguiar's scratchx) 6)apply wax(I used NXT) enjoy your freshly debadged hoopty |
ima do this today..wish me luck guys
