Idling problem

Anybody know how could just changing my battery bring my idle way down -- almost to a stall on my 2004 G35 coupe? I don't believe I pulled any vacuum or electric lines loose. Thanks

Sounds weird.. have you tried an idle relearn? Sometimes the G can forget :)

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago when I disconnected my battery. Car would fire up and stall immediately after unless I gave it gas. After a few days of driving the problem has dissappeared and I have not has any issues for about 2 weeks.

I believe that the car "learns" to control idle over a period of time based on the state of the motor and the conditions the car operates in. When you disconnect the battery this "memory" is wiped clean and car has to relearn the sweet spot for the idle. This is just my opinion btw.

Reset idle, I had the same issue when replacing my stock battery with an optima red top. It was so bad that the car would actually die right away if you tried to start it up right after shutting down the car.

EDIT: wow, its been a long day. Didn't see how old the thread is. My bad, lol.
