Unlimited Tuning Carbon Fiber G-Tube

4 Attachment(s)
Mod: Unlimited Tuning Carbon Fiber G-Tube
$: $115 (sale price)
DIY: Almost the same as Z-Tube install
Difficulty: Easy
Time to install: 20 minutes, first time
Overall value: 3 out of 5
Review:
It came quickly, and very well packed from Unlimited Tuning.

The install was easy, and more importantly there are no A/C line issues with this intake tube!
It looks gorgeous, and if you can justify the extra cost, it's well worth it.
With my setup (stock airbox), you do still get a bit of that intake hiss when you go WOT....but sound wise, not a huge change.

I recommend UT and their CF g-tube.

What is that little red air filter thingy...?

BirdMan 02-16-2005 03:39 PM

The little red filter thingy is usually called a "breather" and traditonal attaches to the valve covers of some vehicles to allow them to recieve some more air. I haven't gotten a chance to really get a good look at UT G-Tube but I believe this simply goes on hose that connects on the underside of our stock intake tubes correct?

Looks great.. I wish there was one of these when I replaced mine with the OEM Z tube... I did not see the sale price as well.. Full retail is too much for this little mod.. no matter how much R&D went into it... Enjoy....

So it sounds to me like it is better to go with this Z tube over the plastic original one.

Can someone confirm this?

I like it. A sweet install at a very reasonable price. Great find. :)

Got the UTR Carbon FIber "Z" tube also during their SALE, received the item quickly, quality is top notch and looks good under the hood. Thumps up for this mod.

But looks like it has a really rough surface inside the tube....hint rough air flow inside....

Is there any other carbon fiber kits out there like this one??

Exactly what I was thinking.

None that I am aware of

I have this as well. I'm not too thrilled with the rough interior of the intake tube as it probably tumbles all the air that the Stillen CAI straightens out. But, other than that, it is a great little piece. Carbon fiber is great for resisting thermal transferrence and it is well crafted. It does give it a nice roar, but I think the rough interior surface helps to also amplify the high-pitched whine you get with any CAI mod.

Overall, I'm happy with it. It looks great with a CF engine cover and is a nice complement to my Motordyne 3/8" spacer and Stillen CAI. It will hold me over until the entire intake gets replaced when I eventually go TT.

Helldorado u have the same exact setup I was going for. I have my CF tube coming today but the only difference is I'm putting a popcharger instead of the stillen. Love the cf engine cover!!

chef would you perfer it over the CF Z-tube?

texasranger2003 07-01-2005 01:58 AM

at the Ut website the cf z tube is listed for 140, is there anyway to still get it for $115 as is listed above?

thanks guys
