Tanabe Medallion sedan exhaust

Tanabe Medallion sedan exhaust
Originally ordered the Megan but THMotorsports was out (and apparently everyone else is too) and with no production date in sight, they offered to split the difference between the Megan and Tanabe and ship it out immediately. Wanted something reasonably quiet and the Megan and Tanabe seemed to be the quietest aftermarket exhaust systems.
Cat back and a catback...
Welds looked really good, larger diameter pipe than stock for sure.
As installed
IMO the large canister looks a bit ricey, I've since blacked it out.
Combined with the Beluga Y-pipe there seems to be a bit more power above 4000 rpm, didn't notice any loss on the low end. Nothing dramatic but everything is now in place for (probably) Art Pipes.
Overall the exhaust is reasonably quiet. Nice growl on start-up, then quickly settles down. Under about 75 mph you don't hear it much at a steady speed. Once you get into the 75-80 mph range (both are legal speed limits on various highways in Texas) any throttle tip in and you get some drone. Not so much you have to mess with stereo volume though. Full throttle is sounds great. Putting around its quiet. Much past 1/3rd throttle though, its too loud IMO. I'm probably going to add a larger resonator to replace the original one to take the edge off. Might see if the shop can tuck the muffler up a bit higher too.
Pros: Excellent quality, perfect fit, flashy (if you like that), sounds great when you get on it, seems to be a small performance gain
Cons: a bit too loud at part throttle, minor freeway drone at higher speeds, flashy (if you don't like that), single tip vs factory dual tip
