Dyno'd Invidia G200 Exhaust

The exhaust didn't make much of a diffrence until I did the ECU Reset (pedal method). The exhaust sounded deeper and the Automatic shifted better.
I lost HP and TQ under 5,200 RPM, but had steady gains above 5,200 RPM gained HP and TQ. Driving the car it's hard to tell it lost any low end power. Stock 220.97 HP 221.67 TQ Invidia 231.55 HP 216.77 TQ |

Have you considered installing an H or X Pipe on your Invidia? It really helped with the sound and performance of my Injen SES. It is supposed to balance the air flow better.

I didn't take any video's, I had the dyno done on my way into work. Keith N, I know Lowrider added an H pipe to his G200. The muffler shop that installed my G200 said they didn't have the right torch ( hot enough) to weld to Stainless Steele. I’ve been considering an X pipe/test pipe setup, in place of the cats. Most likely it would have clearance issues. |

I was hoping it would’ve been a steady gain through out the power band, but it wasn't. Driving the car you can barley tell it lost any low end power. 5 foot lbs of torque for a 3,500lbs + vehicle really isn't that noticeable. G35pm, I bought the car used and it has chromed factory 17“s. I've heard those were some the heaviest wheels Infiniti has put on a G35. |
How is this exhaust configured? Is there a Y-pipe or is it a true dual? I think the VQ needs a liitle back pressure from a Y or X pipe to retain its torque.

Back pressure= loss of hp and tq. The same principals that apply to head porting also apply to exhaust systems. Backpressure is your enmey. But if you go with too big on pipe diamater you will loose air veloscity. This is where you will loose power. As far as going with a H-pipe or an X pipe it depends on what you are looking for. An H-pipe will give you a deeper sound but after about 4k rpms the exhaust gasses are going to blow right by the balancer pipe so you loose the benifit of merging your exhaust gases. An X-pipe will give you much more power but with a slightly higher pitch. |

^ really? i thought torque gets you up through the 1st couple of gears, then it's all horsepower after that. unless you're referring to a race as block to block.

Actually the numbers you got are slightly higher then the ones I got. My Best stock run was 212whp. 352whp after a Greddy TT. The guy that runs the dyno said I should get better numbers on a dynojet or Mustang dyno. I guess it depends on what dyno you take it to.

I am running that same exhaust system with my Greddy kit. I like it because it retains the stock looks the tips are friggin cool and it eliminates a lot of backpressure which is huge for the turbos. Stock made 218 rwhp and after the turbos+exhaust I made 359 rwhp. Other guys with different exhausts on the same system were about 10 or so whp less. For whatever reason. Of course I'd like to think it's my cool, stylish, awesome exhaust....but it's probably not.
