If you want a good idea on what the payments are for a “good deal on a lease” then just plug in the numbers below on this site.

http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm

MSRP ~ $36000 by your estimate

Base Cap Cost = $2000 to $2500+ below the msrp. That is a pretty decent discount. I was able to get $2500 on my 05. Some people were getting $4000+ off of 06 models recently. This number affects your payment greatly. The more you get off MSRP the much less you will pay each month.

Additional costs = None. Don’t pay their BS fees and upfront costs. Ideally you don’t want to pay anything except the first months payment upfront. This minimizes your risk for loosing your down payments if your car gets totaled.

Cap cost reductions = None, unless you have a trade in or if you insist on putting money down.

Residual = 59+%. See if you can get 59% or greater. That will really keep your payment low. 58% is acceptable. If you get lower than that then the payments start getting out of hand.

Money factor = .0021 or lower. I have seen some .0019 values before. However, the interest rate is higher now so I doubt you will see that for awhile.

Term of lease = 36 to 39 months. This is the sweatspot for a lease. If you go any longer then you might as well buy it. If you go shorter then the payments go up.

Sales Tax = Your state sales tax. The only thing you can do to affect this is to move to another state. Delaware is a good choice I think.

I plan on just taking these numbers into a dealer early next year. I will make sure they have the exact car I want in stock. I won’t even test drive the car. I will just say when you can do these numbers give me call and then start walking out. If they want to sell the car bad enough then they will make it happen then. If not I can wait a few more months till they are desperate.

.0021xxxx money factor is not happening. This is not a BMW and it is not a 2nd-3rd year production car. Lexus' money facotr is .00275 and I believe .0024 is the lowest the coupe will be when it comes out. .0026 is prob a good estimator. You're looking at $620/month with nothing down as the guestimate for 36 months...

Yep, that definitely sounds like the dealer is butt-raping you. I would advise against putting that much down on a lease. If you were financing, that would be another story. What cost did you negotiate the car for?

Here is the complete deal that they put on papers ...

04 TSX Nav Trade-In 21K.

I owe around 12K to bank so i get 9K out of which 4.5K goes as down.

G35 Sport, Premium and Nav Price : 38700

Lease Period : 39 Months

Monthly Payment : 530 pre tax (Seattle arounf 9% tax) 578.

The biggest problem is there isn't may dealers out here.

Interesting there is an Infiniti lease sheet floating arround here that lists the money factor as .00229 for 39 months. It is .00236 for 36 months. Now I am sure that you will be able to do better than that in a few months when these cars are not as hot. I got .0021 on my 05 about 7 months after it came out. There is no reason why you won't be able to do close to that on these cars.

Sorry but your $620/month estimate is way off base. You must be in the business of selling these leases or you are just not giving a realistic estimate.

LoL, you clearly know nothing about me. First you said when the coupe comes out, how was I supposed to know you meant 6 months AFTER the coupe comes out.

Then I figured we're assuming a fairly well equipped car...say Premium and Nav. Good luck getting less than $620/month with none down on that. Sorry dude, my numbers are right.

and 36K for a 08' Coupe...can you say LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Guess you like strippers, I'm thinkin more like 41.5k with 1K off.

I never said I thought the 08 coupe would be 36K. Someone else said that. In fact I said I didn't want to even guess at what a G37 would cost. However, a well equipped G35 sedan stickers at about $36500(Nav is not important to me). It won't be long before you can get that for $34,000.

Excellent, you pay $620/month. That only means that the dealer will be much happier to give me a deal after he raped you.

I'm not going to argue with you anymore, we're all trying to help people estimate.

Even without nav, I'd be hesitant to guess a 2008 G35/7 coupe will run below $600/month after tax.

That was me that estimated 36K so lay off mpgxsvcd hes only here to help people out.
And that was my guess because infiniti is trying to maintain the current prices of the g series and pushing it up to the 40k would change its competition and the G will no longer be the best value car, which is what
made Gs such high sellers. Also i dont think the 3.7 has been confirmed or
there is any reasonable evidince of its existance.

Wake up call, the G is the best value when bought, not leased. BMW runs .001x and 62% residual values for a 3 year lease.

Will it make sense to buy if you are planning to sell it after 3 yrs ?

I don't believe you about those numbers. Please show many any offer sheet that has these numbers on it. If BMW offers these numbers on a 335i then yes that is a fantastic deal. However, the sticker of $51000 is kind of hard to swallow.
