****end update- general info and discussion follows****

This thread is for information and coordination of the Apr 23rd Vegas Invasion / Extreme Autofest show.

I will coordinate, with Ed discounts for those that want to show with Team Transport. Most discounts for shows apply only to individual team registrations. We'll get the deals, and if there is another team that wants to show, we will pass the contact and deal on to you and you will need to fill your roster to get to that point.

If you are not a member of a crew/team, please consider Team Transport, we are an established lively team & are the TEAM that pushed for and established the Infiniti category at these shows! www.teamtransport.org for more info - supporting, race/drag (motorsports) and Show memberships are available.

For this show only, those interested in showing at EA can do so with Team Transport without paying dues for team membership. This will encourage those interested to drive to Vegas, show, and then decide whether or not they like the show "biz". Discounts for shows will be passed on to you, but any SPONSOR freebies or equipment will be limited to full members only.

Full event logistics such as rooms, meals, any non-team specific show discounts and activities etc. will be open to everyone attending ... (PARTY) or (SHOW) - Transport or other teams.

JAMES: Can you be our insider to EA? Also, since you are in Vegas, help me out with some logistics.

Cheers, Ted

Proposed Schedule - to be updated (so chill!!!) i expect there to be multiple caravans according to people's work/school schedules.

APR 22rd: Friday

1pm - Wave 1 caravan (SHOW CARS SHOULD JOIN THIS GROUP)

6pm - Wave 2 caravan leaves & Wave 1 hotel check-in

7pm - Wave 1 happy hour & Load in for SHOW CARS (tentative, pending loadin insructions)

8pm - Wave 1 Dinner

1030pm - Wave 2 joins up with Wave 1 and descends on some club or activity
understanding that we have some underage folks, so... is the drag strip open? Or, we will have a 21 and under and 21 and over groups. Not everyone will want to do what eveyone else wants to do... so this will be solved for later, depending on who signs up.

APR 23rd: Saturday

7AM - G35Driver Breakfast... (don't complain it's early, its not like you went to bed anyway!)

9AM - Load in of late arrivals at Show (if allowed)

NOON - G35DRIVER Lunch at/near Show (optional)

3PM - EA opens

10PM - EA closes

After 10PM - unload cars ? Unless this is a Sunday event too? Conflicting schedules on EA's website!

Sat night G35Driver Dinner

APR 24th: Sunday
AM - your own time
Noon - GTG for group super picture
Take off for home 1pm on (or as personal schedule allows)

================================

Those flying in can choose which Wave to coordinate their schedules with. you will be given cell #s and contact info for your "Wave Leader".

Shouldn't this and the signup be in the west forum? Dang SoCal guys think that they are the center of the universe.

Seriously though, if I can help out, let me know.

Probably shoulda been in the West, seeing as we have NorCal and Nevada Team Transport members! But not that many people check in with the West Forum nowadays!

I know the roll-in for EA is sched for Fri 1-5, but we have been able to get exceptions with advance registration... and with #'s it is pretty easy to get them to reserve space, as long as we do not abuse the extended roll-in time.

I will coordinate as soon as I see folks signing up.

Cheers, ted

Are there gonna be hotel discounts or splitting or anything? I'm probably gonna show at EA, but I don't have a place to stay yet.

GReddySetGo.... absolutely... but it is also based on positive numbers. I am working today and tomorrow on rooms. There will be some folks willing to share and those wanting a little privacy.

I'll start getting that info out as soon as possible, but am I looking at 5 rooms, 20 rooms, or 40 rooms? That's the problem, it's hard to wheel and deal when you don't have any ammo.

sign up folks!!!! I'll get some estimates out soon!

Cheers, Ted

Geobau... LV locals... what do you think about staying downtown. Cashman Center is past DT, and def not on strip.

The 4 Queens is a 3 star hotel that has really good cust service and would probably be willing to play ball with us. They open straight out onto Fremont street and run around $69/nite. Strip hotels are running $169+/nite, four stars are running $200+ I know we can swing a deal, but DT is more agressive on savings. We would need to select a hotel that will provide preferred/secured parking for those not showing.

This is just preliminary, so keep an open mind people. There is no need to spend $500 on hotels when you only sleep about 5 hours the entire weekend. We just need an inexpensive, clean, comfortable, friendly and convenient hotel.

The planning continues and I appreciate any input from the locals.

Cheers, Ted

Downtown is a little traffic congested and well... old. There are definitely some deals to be had down there though. Four Queens is ok I recommend the Golden Nugget. Everything else is just going to be so-so. If you are just looking for a spot to shower and rest your head though anything will do.

I'd try looking for a block of rooms at the Aladdin. It's a very nice new hotel on the strip and I hear that the rates aren't too bad compared to adjacent high end hotels.

What Ty said. Cashman Center is up there a bit, so I think it would be a better idea to stay north, around Golden Nugget/4Q. Bear in mind that the farther north you go, the less options you have for non-congested streets. It gets a little messy- don't have visions of everyone caravanning to the show, because they will be dashed within two lights

What kind of clubs/activities are you looking for? If you get a sufficient group, you can pool your resources and get a MUCH better night out. ie. 10 people paying $20 just to get in a club, then paying about $30 for drinks per person makes a total expense of $500. Ten people sharing two bottles of Grey Goose in the VIP section with a hostess costs about the same, give or take a hundred. Much, much better time and much, much better deal. Do some recon work and find out what you guys want, and we'll try to hook you up on this end. The sooner we know, the better.

Guess we'll see what happens...come on G driver's, spring is in the air!

Agreed, if we are planning a club night it's best to plan ahead and go in as a VIP group. Standing in line sucks.
