Thanks for sharing the nice vids! The best post too! BTW: Are you guys allowed to mount miniDV cams on the back seats? Like ala third person/over the shoulder views? Thanks

Max amount of people allowed in the car is 2. And no one should be in the back seat. The camera person can record fine from the passenger seat.

^ i know there are kits that allow you to mount your cam on. some guys have it down here. my prelude buddies has one. it mounts just above the middle of the rear seat. no need for seat belt strapping.

anyway, track your car one day with your setup. i wanna see the coolness.

Man that tripod in the backseat worries me. I'd say don't try it on a track day.

I've hit the brakes hard enough once that I popped open the rear cigarette tray.

That setup isnt advisable and we'd likely tell you to secure it otherwise, but not like the way in the picture you posted. With the amount of force you'll be encountering when braking, that setup will not hold and is considered a hazard. Just have someone ride with you and record.

One thing I'm thinking about investing in is the helmet camera, where a small pen camera is mounted on the helmet to give a driver's perspective on things. Costs about $300, and since I ride motorcycles, it's something I'd use when my friends and I are riding. When I find the link with the info, I'll post that up too.

SLS requirements/DV Mount

To run in Super Lap Series, roll cage/bar not required. Just need a helmet and shirt (no tank top).

They have helmets to rent if you don't have one.

It is a good opportunity to push our cars a little, in a safe/controlled environment and work on the basics, such as trail braking (really necessary in our g's), heel toe downshifting (since from the straight to turn 1, downshifting from 4th to 3rd to 2nd) and car balance thru the high speed S-turns.

I use a camera mount that attaches to my passenger seat headrest posts, which works well.

I have lots of in car video from the June 4th SLS, just don't have enough space to post.

Hopefully there will be more g's at the next SLS on July 24th. Hope 2 c u guys there.
