Here's what happened. I have most bulbs converted to LED, including the rear license plate light.

Not too long ago, my clock LED light starts flickering. I found out one of my license plate was off as well. I tried it fix it for a few times. Ended up fixed the rear license plate light by bending the contact a little out and a new LED bulb.

Then the clock LED light stop flickering after the rear license plate light is fixed. But during the whole processing of trying to fix it with the rear license plate light not being fixing (not stable), the clock LED was flickering the whole time.

So, is the clock LED tied to the rear plate light??

 

No, your clock light is going bad. I had mine replaced under warranty a year or so ago.

Just had the main **** on the info center go bad too. Same thing, segment of light was flickering, they replaced that last month.

 

OP is correct. The license plate and clock are tied together..
