OK it's back in but now to check things of my mental list so I can stop worrying.
Engine went in with not to much hassle. I did break a hose but I'll hit the yard in the morning to get a replacement on.
I'm still worried about the torque converter for some reason. It's seated and it spins with some slight resistance (is that ok?) I've seen others that just spin very easily and some that do not.
When attaching the tq to the flywheel is it possible to turn the torque converter through the same opening I removed the bolts or do I depend solely on spinning the flexplate..
I installed my old plugs (only had 8000 miles on them) and I plan on changing the oil after its initial start up.
Nope looks like you're pretty much got it, I would get a can of AC coil cleaner aerosol and spray down the condenser to clean that debris off it. After the motor is bolted back into place spin the crank by hand a dozen or so times and the initial start you should pull the fuel pump relay and crank the motor with the starter a couple time to get oil pumped to the top of the engine. Do a couple of short runs on the motor, 1min or so, then shut it down and look for leaks. Rinse repeat a few times, be patient, burp the radiator and make sure you have someone tailing you for the first short trips around the block to look for leaks and such. Carry a tow strap and equipment to tow your vehicle back just in case.
Start making a checklist on paper of startup items including a complete list of fluids to check just to make sure you don't skip something.
Ohhh and if you didn't already I would throw in a new thermostat, never had any luck with the t-stat on a used motor so...
Spent FOREVER getting the dowel pins lined up smh but I noticed this.
This doesn't seemed to be lined up with the back of the engine. Everything bolted up fine so I'm confused as to why this has a lip I guess you could say that's not lined up. Any ideas?
Not sure, doesn't necessarily need to be flushed out though. Sometimes the engine needs more reinforcement in that area whereas the bellhousing didn't (or vice-versa in this case). Cost effective to not waste aluminum plus reduces weight of the overall component so it's only engineered to meet the stress demand placed on it. (Basically just pulled that idea out of my *** though). If everything bolted up properly then that's it.
But! The darn power steering pump won't mount back in. It's like it won't fit smoothly. There's a raised edged in the back of the bracket it slides in and it won't seat correctly.
Sigh always the simplest things.
Only thing left is installing the radiator, ac compressor and fresh oil. Now back to trying to make this power steering fit! I see a dremel in my future lol
Pulled with tranny and all mine was x so goin rwd Welding process to fit mount... also using Gs old mount Doesnt look bad i had figure and custome a/c and power steering fitment and relocation.. Fitted intercooler pipping, later ill post pics of engine with ac and power steering lines im at the last part weld tranny bridge and waiting for shaft from rawbrokerage got my harness installed already but pics comming.later

Now back to the issues at hand, I'm having quite the issue with the pump seating correctly. Is it possible I'm missing something? Can I just use the dremel and smooth the edge? Please? Lol
