FS: 2003 6mt Brembo Sport coupe
2003 6mt Brembo Sport coupe
1 of a kind. Systematically upgraded or maintained since I bought it in October 2015. I have several threads on this forum dedicated to the repairs and modifications.
Bought off Craigslist back then, I sat down with my notebook and made a list. I also made this thread https://g35driver.com/forums/media-s...hhh-build.html to document the transformation.
So what you have here is the GT35RS. Upgraded with a theme in the spirit of the legendary Porsche 911 GT3/ GT3RS that are currently well out of my reach.
European GT car handling was achieved with 350z spec Bilstein shocks and struts, and Eibach Pro-Kit springs. While I was in there I also replaced the front upper and lower control arms, compression bushings and inner and outer tie rods. The rear suspension was treated to SPC camber links, and the differential suspended with Whiteline urethane bushings.
The factory Brembo brakes were flushed and bled, and new cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads installed.
New wheel bearings at all 4 corners
After breaking a clutch pivot bolt I decided to upgrade to the 2005 6mt with better syncros, and a chromoly pivot ball. A Grip St3 Dual Friction (spring hub for easy driveability) and 17lb aluminum flywheel was installed also. Clutch hydraulics are new throughout, both master and slave cylinders, and stainless line which is also heat wrapped. A new starter was installed as well.
Taking the GT35RS lightness theme to the extreme is a set of AMS billet aluminum crank and accessory pulleys, and a 1 piece aluminum driveshaft. This beast revs QUICK.
Moving on to the engine, new coil packs, spark plugs, cam angle sensors and 4 new oxygen sensors were installed. A new Denso radiator, coolant hoses, water pump and thermostat was fitted. I resealed the spark plug tubes and installed new valvecover gaskets. The injectors were found to be seeping so they were rebuilt and installed with a new pressure damper. A MD 5/16" plenum spacer is in place, and the electrical system performs at peak efficiency with no resistance due to a SCEX grounding kit.
New engine and transmission mounts were installed to make sure the power made it to the ground instead of twisting in the engine bay. The car came to me with a K&N Typhoon cold air intake installed. I opted to keep it because the wail at full throttle suits the car perfectly. Sometimes 1-2 hp is not worth losing a visceral sensation.
I pulled the cheap raspy ebay long tube headers off, and installed a set of mild steel TopSpeed shorty headers which I also wrapped with DEI ThermoTec to cut underhood temps significantly. Using a set of resonated Ebay testpipes currently, only because I planned to migrate to the MD Art pipes later. OEM catalytic convertors are going with the car as well.
Using a Megan Racing Y pipe, in search of the perfect exotic wail for the exhaust I made my own from scratch using a Borla muffler and grafted OEM G35 exhaust tips thru a center exit for the GT35RS flair.
I hit the nail on the head..it sounds like no other G35 I have ever seen. I have several videos on YouTube of full throttle accel from a stop and cruising on the hwy at 80mph.
Keeping with the Porsche theme I had billet adapters made and the car runs a variety of Carrera 18" wheels. Tires are 225/45/18 front and 255/45/18 rear on an 18x11. The speedo is dead-on accurate to my GPS. I also have 25mm spacers for OEM G35 wheels if you choose instead for perfectly aggressive, functional stance.
The Seibon carbon fiber hood is faded and has a circular crack in the clearcoat right in the front due to shutting it in cold weather. An Inven duraflex front bumper punctuates the view of the GT35RS other drivers see overtaking them. Once passed, the 1 off custom carbon fiber rear diffuser is the last thing they see.
All of these bolt-on mods are pulled together with an UpRev Osiris tune by Seymore4.
The GT35RS is an awesome daily driver, and on the weekends it is a perfect long distance Grand Tourer. I've been from Myrtle Beach to Atlanta, and NC, TN.. you name it. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. Hit the twisties and the german inspired suspension brings the car to new life yet again. On the long road it practically drives itself it tracks so straight with zero vibration, wobble or pull.
The interior is a 7-10 in black leather OEM seats with the usual tear in the driver lower lateral bolster. A proper set of sport seats to drop an estimated 100lbs is next in line for the project, and will transform the power to weight ratio even more. New window motors were recently installed. AC is ice cold, and the heat will burn you.
When I took ownership of the G35 it had a Pioneer flip out nav with Bluetooth. It works great and I've never wanted for more.
I bought this car in October 2015 with 113k miles. Now almost 2.5 years later I'm at 142k and rising everyday. I see over 300 miles per fill-up with my spirited local commute, and rev happy driving style.
I never even checked a Carfax when I bought this car, and I haven't since either. All I need to know is, it works very well, and its very fast. This car was mechanically reborn in my tenure. The South Carolina title is clear and in my hand.
$8500 and it can be yours. I'll consider serious cash offers, but only after you have ridden in and driven the car.

PM me any questions. Only selling so I can buy my obtainable dream daily driver, a Porsche 911. I don't have the room to keep both.
Stay Tuned!
