So I Did a Few Things - Flame Away

wanted a more accurate reading of engine temp... looked at getting some gages then stumbled on the OBDII threads...
when putting in the remote start found out battery was going bad, when I replaced the battery I caught a glimpse of the cabin filter - not good
and then the pièce de ré·sis·tance - yep an accent light in the trunk...
flame away...

It's a little bright for my tastes. I've been adding very dim Amber accent lighting that matches the instrument gauge color so I'm not opposed to lights

Only thing I see wrong is the RPM in park. But looking at your temperature maybe the car is still warming up. I believe the rpm settles down around 650

Why would we you for being able to follow what's going on under your hood? I installed gauges years ago so I could keep track of my oil pressure and voltage, one of the rice 's that though he was in charge here asked me if I thought I had a race car? My reply was, "I want to keep track what's going on under my hood, what's wrong with being aware and having the extra knowledge?" The squirt never answered my reply, guess he felt stupid!

thanks guys
RPM - yep I had just started it..
Tablet Display - I have switched to a color (I'm extremely color blind) closer to that of the gauge cluster and it gets dimmed at night...
still playing around with the Torque Pro settings....
next step is to install a piece of tinted plastic over the OBDII itself to tone done the brightness of the lights...kind of distracted at night

Black electrical tape works great for covering up annoying lights. Get the good 3M super 33+ though, don't use garbage tape or it won't last long. Super 33+ will out last the vehicle.

What do you need for the torque pro app to work......is it free?
Been thinking about having that data up on mine ever since I put the tablet in.

Do you leave the OBD plugged in? Any chance it could drain the battery if not driven for a couple days you think? I know my usb one gets power with the car off

Some OBD readers have auto sleep mode, i have a Vgate ICar 2 reader that shuts down 30 minutes after stopping the car's engine,

I use nissan datascan and if anyone hasn't tried it then I'd highly recommend it. I'm still going to try out torque for the cost but it seems you can do a lot more than the torque app(like playing a prank and turning the fuel pump off). Not sure about the mobile app but I use the PC version. What all is the torque app capable of??

It can read all the engine sensors real-time and logs data, thats really all I ever use it for.
