I have the scosche double din dash kit in hand, and also my new kenwood touch screen head unit. Problem, theres no way to mount the head unit to the dash! The scosche kit does not come with side plates or brackets of any kind. The kenwood only comes with the slide in sleeve and it has no provision for securing to the dash. Its too fat to attach the regular way with the little folding tabs. The infiniti dash kit does not allow that kind of old school mounting. What have other folks done? Pics please! I have here pics of the scosche kit with the kenwood sitting in it to show how it fits,, and then the sleeve....

 

Drill, baby, drill! (not while your radio is in the factory bracket, of course).

 

OK, so the factory radio has a removable bracket? If thats the case, then it should be easy enough. From some other pictures on the net, I had thought the factory head unit had its mounting tabs permanently attached. I have not taken apart my car yet due to not knowing the bracket situation. Going to be a lengthy project.

 

WOW! What a pain to install this thing. I got lucky and my scosche kit was the correct paint color for my car. Its not exact, but very much close enough. Differencs is the car has no gloss, and slightly larger metal flake. The scosche is slightly gloss, with smaller metal flake. Total job about 12 hours including running subwoofer and amp wiring to the trunk. 1 call to the scosche tech support had my steering wheel controls working perfectly. Very pleased with this install. What a difference it makes to have adjustable crossovers and good power to the oem speakers. They are not bad at all. Climate controls work great. It appears somebody had already torn into my cars stereo / climate control situation. Lots of cracked plastic and even some glue holding the radio console together,, 2 missing screws. It did look and fit fine from the outside though. Nice to have 1 more issue with this car solved. Onto the next issue I guess.
