Hey hey new to forums

So to start off I'm new here and would like to say hello before asking for help so 👋 my question is do altima rear shock absorbers for our g35 I have some brand new ones for my altima but it already has new shocks. After looking the rear ends are pretty much the same suspension wise shocks seem the same length and made the same 🤷🏼*♂️ has anyone ever tried this? Wouldn't mind throwing em into the g35x

Welcome to the forum. I don't know if anyone has thought of using Altima shock/struts for the G, but should be easy enough to test fit to see if they work for fitment and geometry.

I would caution about mixing and matching different spring rates front to back. Some useful info here discussing differences with coupes, sedans, and Zs.

Thanks for the reply the g35x and altima have seperate springs so I'd only be changing the struts the springs on the x and altima are seperate from the strut so I wouldn't be changing the spring rate I guess I'll have to try to find out

No they will not, Altima rear shocks have

Extended length 21.18
Compressed length 14.48
Stroke length 6.7

G35X rear shocks has

Extended length 22.12
Compressed length 14.8
Stroke length 7.32

You would almost certainly run into piston issues using the shorter ram altima shocks.

Altima front struts have

Extendex length 20.31
Compressed length 13.42
Stroke length 6.89

G35X front struts have

Extended length 14.92
Compressed length 11.06
Stroke length 3.86

They're so wildly different in the front there's no way it would work.

Wow thanks for the detailed answer that's what I was hoping for I was unsure about the rears but knew the fronts wouldn't work. Well guess I'll buy some new g35x rear struts when the time comes and leave the Altima struts for the Altima if ever they fail

KYB replacements (OEM) are extremely cheap. I just bought front struts and rear shocks with new bellows for under $200. I would never recommend those Altima ones.

I know it's just cause I had them in my garage and figured if they fit why not but mine are still fine
