RB Texas Stampede - RESCHEDULED - Sunday, Feb. 27 from Austin, Texas
This event is being organized for Nissan and Infiniti car owners only.
The second annual Raging Bull Texas Stampede, a countryside drive on some of the most scenic and challenging roads in Texas, will be on Saturday, February 26, 2005. It is a 270+ mile course that starts in Austin, Texas and has been designed for our maximum enjoyment (we’ll leave in the morning and come back before sundown to have dinner and share stories of the day). Detailed maps and directions will be provided, so no one needs to worry about getting lost. If you want to enjoy driving your Nissan or Infiniti car all day, the way it was designed to be driven, come on out and ride with us. More information regarding this event can be found at:
www.RBTexasStampede.com
The FAQ page will, hopefully, answer all of your questions. If not, please write me. This year's Raging Bull will be a totally different route spanning nine counties. Every Z club in Texas has been invited (Abilene, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and the 350Z Roadster Club), so there should be plenty of new people to meet and rides to check out. Last year’s Stampede had 350Z Coupes and Roadsters, 300ZXs, a 280ZX, 240SXs, and G35 Sedans and a Coupe. Drivers came in from as far away as Del Rio, Abilene, and Dallas.
As before, registration is required which can easily be done at the web site.
Look forward to seeing you at the Stampede!

drive! Route 2222 west out of Austin is a favorite. I took a Hill country drive last summer,
from San Antonio to Wimberly, thru Dripping Springs and on to Austin.
GOD I love driving around there. I'm wetting myself just thinking about it. OOOPS

Definitely looking forward to the drive again... I was the only coupe in last year's drive, so some of you guys need to come help "represent" among all the 350Z's that showed up last year.
Great way to get a feel for what the G can do (now I know exactly when VSD is going to come on). Even went weightless a few times on some of the "roller-coaster" stretches of road. What a blast.
Need to find the link to last year's small video that Pat made.

Hey Spill, maybe I can help you out. The video can be downloaded from:
http://350zroadsterclub.com/videosMenu.html
On the left side under Roadster Videos it is the one that says "350ZRC's 2nd Meeting & Raging Bull Texas Stampede (19 mb)".
P.S. The reasons it is referred to as "350ZRC's 2nd Meeting..." is due to the fact that last year's Stampede was sponsored by the 350Z Roadster Club
P.P.S. I hope to get the video link plus photos and articles made available on the event web site some time soon.

For any of you who have not driven the Hill Country, check out the video posted above.
What Time does this event begin? Since I live in Sugar Land, I will need to spend the
night before in Austin to make the meet. I also assume there will be a scheduled refuling
along the route, as 300 miles is pretty much a tankfull for me.

I have registered and am definitly going! I guess I will get a hotel room for
Friday and Saturday nights. I don't want to need to drive the 180 miles from
Sugar Land, then drive 300+ miles in the Hill Country and drive another 180
miles back home. Sigh... But hey! I'm worth it. So what if I spend around
$250 to have a great time.

Pictures are coming soon, but some of them can be seen in the newsletter article.

Are any of you guys from out of town spending the night at a hotel/motel?
I started looking on hotels.com for a reasonable place to stay. I am guessing
that we want to book a place in northwest Austin? My buddy and I plan
on spending Friday and Saturday nights in Austin. I found the "Hearthside Suites"
on Research Blvd with a Studio 2 bedroom unit for $59.25/night.
That is pretty reasonable! Any ideas/suggestions are welcome!
