It's on, Max vs. G Challenge
 

Well, my boy Russ wants to race me. He has a pretty modded out '02 max. Exhaust, comp piggy back (not sure of the model), headers going on this weekend, pop charger, and I think that's about it engine wise.

He straight up said that he could take me, however, i've been in his car, and I think he's fooling himself. I think he could do all the bolt ons in the world and still not get the hp to the rear wheels that the g has. However, he might be close.

There's a dragstrip up in mooresville. www.mooresvilledragway.com, I saw that they have test and tune day on Sunday and thursday nights. The thursday night mentioned streets and grudge matches, so I need to check if they have the grudge matches on sunday. Has anyone ever been up there? Any info on how it works? Or even better, have you been up there to run?

Regardless of when we race, it might be something fun to get into one sunday. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up and see if there was any interest.

Russ said he'd wait till I got my plenum spacer installed first. So my engine mods will be exhaust, pop charger, and plenum spacer. So where do you guys think we will stand?

Maximas are pretty Quick. I learned that in Myrtle Beach riding in a 05' with a guy vs. a 05' G coupe. Off of a 35 mph roll the Maxima almost pulled! The maxim only had a nismo exhaust and Intake with a huge speaker box with a 15 in the trunk, Ill be there to see what will happen. Regardless Im rooting for the G FTW!

I'll give love to all the max's out there, but I don't think he can get me. In fact, I might give him a car length. Of course, I've been on the beer for the last 3 hours crying the blues because my mounties sh*t the bed against dayton today, so it could be the beer talking.

yeah i always go to mooresville on thur nights. Its a pretty good showing when it gets warmer you should head up there.

You're correct. In fact without some major drivetrain modifications, he won't get any power to the rear wheels at all. Have fun.

I think you got my point. But I'll rephrase, I don't think his bolt ons will get the power to his front wheels that I have to the rear wheels, but he might be pretty close.

I wonder how the cars compare weight wise? I might have to do some homework.

I have had the PLEASURE to own 01 Max. K&N filter and HFC only..03 Max..HKS Exhaust..Injen intake.. UD Crank pully...Iridium plugs...She was so SWEET and would leave a lot more RUBBER than my 05 G or my 06 G..But both GS were FASTER but close!!!off the line though!!! Both 05/06 G's had all the usual MODS... Now our 08 is just a lot FASTER than all of them..So my MONEY is on the GGGGGGGGG!!!!!!:drivingskid:

I had an '02 Max SE 6MT. They're def faster than people think, but FWD and torque steer sucks. Your buddy doesn't have shit for mods either. No test pipes, exhaust, y-pipe, b-pipe, pulleys, or anything more serious...you should put some money on it.

my bud installed that max's headers and he said a G would beat his max..so..good luck.
