Yeah because i just bought this car i dont have any papers. And tustin infiniti was great when they replaced my clutch petal assembly. I took most peoples advice and i am taking my car to riverside. Is there anything i can do to help my argument if they try to fight it?

Dranom 07-31-2009 04:04 PM

try to ask for the service record of the car and get it printed out if possible so you know what has been done to the car before.

talk to ben if they fight tell him to do what he done to the WHITE coupe before drop the oil pan and take out the valve covers to check for sludge

I had an OC test done in April...the dealer overfilled oil by ~5mm and put zip ties on the dip stick so I can't check. They also told me that I had to come in at exactly 500 miles, anything over that and I'd have to do the test again.

I'm gonna go back for another recheck and I think I'll have to fight with them over this... any suggestions other than going to a different dealer?

I'm going through about a quart every 2k miles.

So does anyone think i will have any problems because i have a stillen ztube and popcharger installed? Or should i revert it to stock? imo i dont think the intake system has anything to do with the oil consumption but what is everyone elses expirences?

Dranom 07-31-2009 10:48 PM

^^^ if you hve a oem intake you might wanna put it on before going
With mine i had my oem on everytime i go to the dealer

Good news! My longblock replacement has been approved and it should happen either Wednesday or Thursday. It was a relatively pain free process overall. Hopefuuly the replacement isn't as thirsty for oil as my current engine.

+1 they change the oil for free and you come back in 1000 miles for the first check

My revup replacement still has OC, but not like my original did.

How many checks do they typically do? My dealer said 3 but I think they're just trying to wiggle out of this one.

For those with replacement engines, how much oil do the new ones burn?

You have a revup (per your Sig). TSB = one time. I suggest reading the TSB so 'you' know what's going on and how 'they' are to follow it.

3, 4, etc times back is the old method before TSB. Many non revs still must do that b/c of no TSB for those (assumption). Dealer games (smart in their eyes) or Dealer really doesn't know and/or TSB guidelines (stupid).

My V2 currently is in the 'good' range on TSB chart with ~12K miles on it now. Very very beginning was in the 'no good' range during early break-in period.

so the oil changes that the dealer make for the OC test are covered at no cost????i had to pay for the oil change...

Defs 08-06-2009 03:24 PM

So did I... They wouldn't budge on that, even when I emphasized the TSB stating it was covered under the warranty work.

Pick up the car tomorrow. They're trying to give me the hard sell on a new clutch + flywheel plus labor that would have to be done anyway(bolting on flywheel etc). I'll just do it myself at some point since it drives fine right now.

heythatsneat 08-07-2009 03:50 AM

Yeah i just paid for an oil change to start the OC test. Riverside infiniti was trying to tell me the noise im hearing (which is the cams) is the clutch and that i should replace it asap... i already knew i needed a clutch and i had them start the OC test anyways. On the way home i heard no rattleing of cams. Possibly because the full oil? I think so!
