Rear Axle Clicking Noise for all 2004's?

I realized recently (after finally being able to open my windows thanks to some nice weather) that I was getting the clicking noises that I heard about on these forums. When I checked the TSB, I noticed that it is only for 2004 Coupes built before early 2004. My Vin number comes after the one listed on the TSB. Is there any issue with me getting this fixed per the TSB? Either way, I should be covered under warranty for the repairs, correct?

Are people with late 2004 models not getting the clicking noises?

Thanks.

what is TSB

triniG35 03-12-2006 11:32 PM

I had mine fixed just last week. Purchased my car at the end of '04. The rear axle needs to be tightened (retorqued). My mechanic says they put a whole new "thing" (what ever it is) in, instead of just retightening. Not sure how true that is though.

how long does it take them to have it fix? i got an 05 and i think i hear the clicking noise coming up so often. if i schedule an appointment would they give out loaners?

It didn't take them long to replace the part but it did take a month to get the part. At least I had a loaner the whole time

Would one of you post a link to the TSB if you have it on hand? Thanks!

its weird. I also have that annoying clicking noise in my rear axle. I took it for service several times and they lubed it and after the second time they replaced the bearings and stuff. there was still clicking and i just leaned to live with them. But when i put on my 17" winter wheels the clicking noise went away but just today i put back on my 18" wheels and heard the clicking noise again!
