Can my Sirrius account be used to activate G's XM radio?
 

I just picked up a 2007 G35 S with SAT/NAV. I have a Sirrius account for my old car, since XM/Sirrius have merged can I transfer my Sirrius account to it? Or do I have to cancel Sirrius and sign up with XM instead? Thx.

To answer my own question - yes it can. But the XM traffic data doesn't seem to work, even though I paid for it.

Sirius and XM are now one company, SiriusXM as of 2009. Old Sirius or XM accounts started to be transferred in 2012. You were probably a SiriusXM member and you didnt even realize it. If you are a really lucky person to own a Sirius lifetime membership, you can now use it on all XM radios too.

The XM traffic only works in certain cities and certain cars. Traffic was not available to V35, but should work fine on the V36. It worked well on my 08 G37.

If you are having issues with Nav traffic, you should call SiriusXM customer support.

Yeah.... I've got the V36 and my city is included in the coverage areas. Guess I do have to give 'em a call

The Sirrius website had me set up for the wrong plans, and XM traffic was not one of them!
