rear camera tapping into aux video line

Hello there,
I know I can run a rca video cable from the camera to the aux in the center console. However, you have to turn on and off the aux to use it. That's not too big of deal but I was wondering if I could tap into the lines between the av unit and the display unit, then give it power through the reverse light.
According to pdf schematics I found it's a 24 pin connector, it's pin 4(v) for the aux ground and pin 15(sb) for aux signal on the display unit. That is connected to the av unit at pin 37(v) aux ground and pin 36(sb) aux signal.
If I spliced into those wires what would happen? haha. Would I still need to push the aux button?
Thanks

Bumping this and adding to it....

If tapping into the AUX input in the center console works (even if it requires tapping the AUX input button), won't the video feed cut out once the gear selector is moved out of PARK ?
