Aftermarket Wheels

Alright guyz so im looking into picking up some 20" wheels with a staggered setup. But I keep getting mixed reviews on this topic and want the best opinions available so you guys are my source. After the switch to after market wheels, give me your opinions on the following:

* Did the quality of the ride greatly decline? (more noisy, rough, etc.)
* Did the fuel economy decline?
* Did the performance of the car decline? (did it slow the car down)

Thanks fellas!

The short answers will be YES to all three questions.

Its basic knowledge that the answer to all 3 of your questions is YES. You're taking away the sidewall so the tire absorbs less of the road. You're adding rotational mass to the car (worst weight you can add) when you add weight, the car experiences a decrease in gas mileage, performance, and braking.

I agree .. yes to all. Of all three issues, the most noticeable will be the added road noise, but should still be very tolerable.

Gas mileage was not that big of a difference for me since I'm mostly highway miles. As for performance ... day to day driving was not a big difference either (guess my butt dyno is out of calibration).

If the G is your daily driver, I wouldn't let these be a show stopper. If you are tracking, I'd say go with the widest 17"-18" wheels you can get in there.

Thanks guyz. Yea I think the MOST noticeable will be the added road noise. I drive mostly streets to work withs some freeway. I'm currently avaraging 18-18.5 mpg. I'm just hoping it does'nt drop off to the 15's with the aftermarket setup.

I'm getting about 19-20 mostly fwy miles in the carpool lane.
