So what do you do when you can't find a wheel calling your name???

...looking & looking & looking; nothing is really doing it for me :(

Has to be 19s, preferably forged (definitely not too weighty) & of course looks kick arse on the sedan.

I like Progressiv ME, but been there done that on my last car.
I'm stuck :dunno:

...BTW don't mention this to my better half :2:

AesonVirus Jun 22, 2009 08:20 PM

LOL... boy, you've got it bad!

InTgr8r Jun 22, 2009 08:22 PM

& you're a big help too.

Borna Jun 22, 2009 08:26 PM

Well Ian, since you're starting this thread I'll have to say just make your own since you customize everything else already. :D

Honestly, wheels should be decided by you, just look for something that hits the right spot when you see it. There are a ton of wheels out there that'll look sick on our cars.

i.e. the Advan Model 5:

There's a pic of a sedan in Japan with these on and it looks so sick with the right fitment.

^ lol.... I agree.
In all the time spent on here, I have never posted about wheels selection.
For what ever reason... I'm stuck :dunno:
re the T5 ...Hasn't the it been discontinued?

I saw these, but one minute I luv em, the next meh....

Those look decent, there are wheels that look better on the G though.

The Model 5's were discontinued and replaced with the Model T5's
The pic I put up isn't of the T5's, sorry about that.
Here are the T5's.

Love that style. Very Corvette-ish. There's a cheap knock-off of it but the offets are ridiculous for a G, and they only go 7.5" wide.

I'm a fan of concave 5-spokes without lips (ala BMW), but alas they're pretty hard to find.

Yeah I like the lipless concave as well.

Those would look sick too.
But make sure you get some aggressive offsets so they have a proper concave look.

^ that's a big part of the problem....
I don't want to run crazy camber just to fit wheels either,
performance is more important than bling, for me.

From what I've seen, I think 9.5 ET45 rear & 8.5 ET35 are about my limits. :dunno:

...BTW just received shipping # from FI :)

Borna Jun 23, 2009 08:59 AM

Congrats on the tracking #, wait till you have the package from FI sitting at your door, that'll be a nice feeling. :DOMO:

Honestly, I'd have to say anything below -2.0* of camber isn't too much.
I'll be getting the H&R springs, which give you about -1.8* without a camber kit and as long as you adjust the toe back to spec you shouldn't have a problem with uneven tire wear, when I order my wheels in the near future. Since my wheels will need about -1.8* to sit flush I won't have to spend money on a camber kit...maybe just a toe bolt.

Unlike toe which shreds your tires quickly, camber only kills your tires over a long period of time. And if you get directional tires you can flip them after around 15k miles and voila, you have an almost new set that'll last you at least another 10k miles.

If you'd be willing to dial in some negative camber, then you could run 8.5 +28 fronts and 9.5 +30 rears easily. That'll give you a nice concave look and still be conservative in terms of camber, you'd have to run about -1.5* front and back with 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 tires with your suspension setup.

InTgr8r Jun 23, 2009 09:39 AM

^ yup... found the same thing.
I have my fr. toe dialed out to 0.00 now

...I didn't think I could push anywhere near those numbers^
Terry has a great setup here & he's at 10" ET48
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...0070831008.jpg

Borna Jun 23, 2009 10:22 AM

Yeah but Terry's car has the camber dialed back to spec so it fits flush, but as you can see Terry's rear wheel doesn't have too much of a lip and I'm sure you know that concave wheels need a more aggressive fitment than wheels with a lip. If Terry's wheels were no lip concave wheels, the face would be nearly flat.
If you're willing to run some camber then you can fit those specs with no problems, I'm going to go even more aggressive than those and like I said I'll be running only around -1.8*
Just do it Ian :D

InTgr8r Jun 23, 2009 12:26 PM

...guess I'm not as brave as you. :o

I agree, there's no point to a half a$$ concave look.
I may can the concave idea :dunno:

That was the one thing I didn't like about my ME setup on the Z4M...
I had a reasonable concave on the rear, but the front sucked.

https://g35driver.com/forums/norther...you-think.html

Someone in this thread mentioned they could conceivably be made to fit...with spacers? Would need some sort of bolt pattern conversion, but hey, you ARE the InTgr8r.
