After a couple days on H&R's
I'm done with them. I don't know how some of you are able to handle the ride. It definitely clear they are not rated for the heavier 2nd gen (which I was told) but I didn't think it would be this bad. It did make me order some BC's though so it's not all bad. If the Tire Rack doesn't take back the H&R's I'll be selling soon.

Wow really?! I've been on my H&R's for over 2 years now and 0 complaint thus far. Only thing is that I feel the wear and tear on my OEM struts over time. Not enough dampening left in them, so I am going to pick up the Tokico HP blue struts soon.
Did you get an alignment after the drop? If I were you, I'd give it another week to let the springs settle fully, then get a final alignment before you make your decision. Just my .02 |
I do have an X though. Maybe the extra weight in the front was causing my issues. It would bottom out hard on medium size bumps. My struts/shocks are almost new too. OEM though only because Tokico doesn't make any that will bolt on to the X. I don't think the alignment would keep me from frequently bottoming out. Oh well, I had a bunch of money in my paypal account I was looking to use anyways lol

The H&R's are suppose to be one of the best quality springs out there.

The extra weight in X vs. RWD is pretty insignificant. Maybe the difference of having just one extra passenger in the car. I think your problem with bottoming out is due to the fact that the H&R springs offer an aggressive drop especially in the front compared to Eibach, Tanabe, etc. I believe it offers the lowest drop for our 2nd gen sedans without going with coilovers. Once you drop your car, you have to get used to driving with the lower stance. Take bumps cautiously and angle your car for extra clearance. Maybe you are new to driving low? Anyway, I would give it some time before you dump the springs after just couple of days of use. Btw if you have excess bunch of monie$ in your paypal account, I can help you dispose of that stuff. Feel free to send it my way, jasonm220@hotmail.com :p I can help!

Letting the Springs settle and getting an alignment (w camber/toe kits if necessary) should help. Your caster is probably off so the strut may not be working at the right angle making it less effective.. It's definitely cheaper to try and will save you life on your tires as well.

maybe you blew a strut. Check it out because I know that it is possible to blow a strut and it will fukc up the ride quality. If not how much you wanna sell the H&R's for PM me

Struts and shocks are almost new. I really don't know what it is. PM Sent

Sure WHoever Installed the Spring Installed the Front Correctly? And did not put it upside down, meaning the Soft side of spring rate is on top, and the Stiffer side on Bottom? Makes me wonder if u bottom out that easy? Should double check Struts and springs make sure they are Correctly Installed?....

My car bottoms out on my JIC coilovers :(
But that's after 2 years of use, so I think one of the struts are gone. |
your springs were put on incorrectly and possible might not be seated on the perch or you blew your shocks, new or not sometimes freak things happen. HR's are one of the best
