Could you please PM me the information of the seller. I will definitely be interested in getting these bulbs if they are selling them for $60 like you said.

i've never used the philips bulbs. but i've had those bulbs since.. june or july... and im still currently using them.. they still work perfect. no discolor. no flickering. works perfect. highly recommended. oh btw.. i got 8000k and still.. its bright as hell.. i dont think i would spend anything UNDER $100.00 a pair though..

I'll PM y'all after i get my D2S bulbs in. I wanna make sure it's a quality product before i recommend it to others. But for the most part, if it's not phillips or osram, it's probably all from the same manufacturer in china or taiwan.... So basically if you're buying from any website you're probably getting the same product.

Question

Very nice write up on this subject... however, back to headlight > Aiming< with a NON TECH car,, is there a way to Manually aim, ie, raise of lower, and any left, right, capabilities with these housings??? Plus, if your car is jacked up on one side,( with the wheel off) it would be very diff. to aim, or adjust anything... i just can't see where any of this is poss..... regards

well first of all.. u dont NEED to remove the wheel.. just turn it inward so u have room to work.. on my DIY the reason for removal of the wheel is for better view.. but u can do this w/o removing the wheel.

i did it without removing the wheel.... just turn inwards, fold the flap down till it touched the wheel, jacking it up (without taking off the wheel) helps with the room, but i only did it on one side to see where everything was, but once i figured out the clip i didn't have to jack up the other side...

Ok, so i just got finished installing the 6000k bulbs i got from some online vendor. When comparing to the stock bulb, you only notice a difference after warm up. The 6000k bulb looks like what the stock bulb looks like on warm up. They are VERY WHITE, where as the stock bulb, when you look at the projector it looks yellow. Here's the pics:

pics of the bulb's base, you see it's a D2R not D2C like other sites....

in this picture, it's taken with flash, 6000k on driver side, stock on left side

without flash, same thing

both 6000k, Some reason looks kinda blue, but in person it's VERY WHITE without a tint of blue.

Here's a pic with flash, shows the color of the projector bulb

cutoff

side

Projector with flash on....

Honestly, the only person that would really notice i changed the bulb would probably be me. There's a difference, but it's slight. It's kinda like a person with fairly nice teeth, got it bleached; so it was nice before, and just whiter now. I'm fine with it since i only spent 60 bucks, I have the 6000k lights in my other car and it's the same color, perfectly white, but it is a bigger difference in the other car since that one came with halogens originally.
If you want BLUE lights, i suggest 8000k.... 6000k is for those that want WHITE lights....

from what i read in this forum, i see three different brands of bulbs:

Philips 6000K Ultinon - price $150-200/pair shipped

6000k recommended by disgookonfiya - price $60/pair shipped

8000k recommended by Pdubz - price $100/pair

is this right? i want to get some new bulbs but which one??

the guy that i ordered mine through are 60 bucks with OVERNIGHT SHIPPING. I can literally order mine monday morning, and get them Tuesday ~noon. And he sells 4300k, 5000k, 6000k, 8000k, 10,000k, and 12000k. I might get the 8000k to try out since it's so cheap and find out which one i like better... I emailed him, to see if he wants to be referred to everyone else.... so I'll probably PM everyone tomorrow when he replies to my email.

Thanks for the information disgookonfiya and I look forward to your PM. I wish there was something in between 6000 and 8000. I want bright white with a tint of blue. Something like what you see on the Maximas or Range Rovers. I think thats a perfect blend of white and blue without making it look ricey.

i think the maxima's are blueish b/c of their projector. I wish i can find the projectors at the right price, than i'd do a retro fit. You might want to try out Kaixen's b/c they make a 6500k which should be what you're looking for, but Kaixen tends to be one of the more expensive HID's, priced under phillips but above the generic kits...

how much hint of blue is in the 8000K? can u compare it to Philips Ultinon. more or less blue tint?

Now that I take a second look at your pictures, I think I'm liking those bulbs a lot more. You say they are pure white but from the pictures I can definitely see tints of blue. Hey for 60 bucks, I'm willing to give it a shot. Lets hope your seller is willing to broaden his sales field.
